More and more people suffer from anemia to a greater or lesser extent, experiencing a lack of iron. Iron oxide saccharate actively participates in the synthesis of some enzymes, such as myoglobin, hemoglobin and others. Its deficiency in the body leads to the fact that the internal organs of a person begin to receive insufficient oxygen. This circumstance affects the functioning of the entire body, a person becomes sluggish and apathetic.

Iron saccharate-iron wine is an effective remedy that can restore biologically sound iron levels in human blood plasma within a short period of time.

Indications Iron saccharate-iron wine.

The active substance of the drug in question is iron oxide saccharate, which is also popularly called iron wine. Due to various circumstances, both medical in nature, due to environmental pollution, and in connection with the decline in the quality of nutrition, in recent years the incidence of iron deficiency in people of different ages and social status has increased significantly.

Indications for use of Iron saccharate-iron wine:

  • Drug therapy for iron deficiency in the patient's body, the etiology of which varies.
  • Preventive measures to prevent the development of iron deficiency in the case of surgical interventions or due to other life circumstances.
  • Replenishment of iron in elderly people, the deficiency of which may occur due to age-related changes in the body.
  • Prevention of anemia in women of childbearing age. This especially concerns expectant mothers during the entire period of pregnancy.
  • Prevention of iron deficiency anemia in children.
  • Treatment of iron deficiency in adults who are vegetarians and follow a vegetarian diet.

Pharmacodynamics

The antianemic substance calcium iron gluconate contains active trivalent iron. The active substance of the drug in question has a relatively stable biochemistry with a small amount of free iron ions, hence the pharmacodynamics of Iron saccharate-iron wine. Being an integral part of the synthesis process, the lack of trivalent iron in the patient's body leads to a failure in replenishment:

  • respiratory enzymes that participate in tissue respiration processes and act as carriers of protons and electrons from the oxidized substrate to oxygen;
  • hemoglobin, a complex protein found in red blood cells that participates in the process of transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide throughout the human circulatory system;
  • myoglobin, the so-called "cardiac" isotope.

In a healthy natural state, a person loses 1-2 mg of iron during the day through urine and feces, which is subsequently replenished through food. With a balanced healthy diet, anemia (iron deficiency) does not occur. However, when the level of loss of trivalent iron is significantly higher than the body's ability to replenish it (due to bleeding, pathological failures in the body, some social reasons, etc.), anemia (iron deficiency) begins to develop. Iron saccharate-iron wine solves this problem. It allows you to partially or completely restore the body's lack of iron.

Pharmacokinetics

The drug enters the human body orally (as a solution through the mouth). It is absorbed into the system through the upper sections of the small intestine and the mucous membrane of the duodenum. The pharmacokinetics of Iron saccharate-iron wine is such that food intake does not affect its absorption capacity. When entering the bloodstream, Iron saccharate-iron wine is absorbed into tissues, where it can accumulate and be stored. It is also deposited in the liver as a complex component, the accompanying chemical element in this case is usually ferritin.

The trivalent iron of the preparation Iron saccharate-iron wine actively participates in the synthesis of blood hemoglobin, although in the enzyme itself it is present in a divalent form. With respect to trivalent iron, an active absorption mechanism is observed. Its quantitative component largely depends on the level of deficiency of the element in question in the body. The attractiveness of this process is manifested in the fact that the small intestine does not absorb more iron than the physiological norm requires.

The main part of iron excreted from the human body is lost through feces and urine. Iron saccharate-iron wine is excreted in the form of hemoglobin metabolism products.

Dosing and administration

For almost all categories of patients (adults; children who have already reached the age of 12, women in an "interesting position"), the method of application and doses of the drug Iron saccharate-iron wine are unambiguous and are prescribed orally. The solution is taken three times a day, after meals. One tablespoon of the drug is poured into half a glass of boiled water at room temperature. It is advisable to slowly suck in the resulting liquid through a regular cocktail straw, this will allow the patient to avoid darkening of the tooth enamel. Upon completion of the procedure, the oral cavity should be thoroughly rinsed. The duration of taking the drug is not limited. During the course of treatment, it is necessary to periodically (once every few weeks) do a clinical blood test, monitoring the hemoglobin level. If its indicator has normalized, the intake of Iron saccharate-iron wine should be stopped.

If the question of taking an iron-restoring drug for a child aged one to twelve years old is raised for preventive or therapeutic purposes, the daily dosage of Iron saccharate-iron wine is obtained at the rate of 1 ml of the drug per 1 kg of the little patient's weight (which corresponds to 3 mg of the iron preparation per 1 kg of weight). The daily dosage is divided into three doses. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the speed of normalization of the hemoglobin level in the blood plasma.

Use Iron saccharate-iron wine. during pregnancy

A woman in an interesting position loses a greater amount of iron, which is involved in the synthesis of many enzymes, so the use of Iron saccharate-iron wine during pregnancy acquires both a therapeutic and a preventive function. But do not forget that trivalent iron is quite easily absorbed by the body into the circulatory system, after which the blood carries it to other systems and organs, it also gets into breast milk, forming a kind of complex with lactoferrin. Therefore, if the newborn does not suffer from iron deficiency, he does not have signs of anemia, it is temporarily recommended to stop using Iron saccharate-iron wine.

Contraindications

Even the name of the drug contains some harmlessness, but, strangely enough, contraindications to the use of Iron saccharate-iron wine still exist.

  • Individual hypersensitivity to the active substance or other components of Iron saccharate-iron wine.
  • Anemia caused by lead poisoning.
  • Sideroblastic anemia is a series of blood diseases characterized by the fact that the patient’s body, having the necessary amount of iron in its reserves, is unable to use it.
  • Hemochromatosis is a hereditary, genetically determined disease that manifests itself as a failure of the iron metabolism process and its excessive accumulation in tissues and organs.
  • Anemia that is not caused by iron deficiency (eg, thalassemia - hereditary hemolytic anemia).
  • Hemosiderosis is an excess of accumulated hemosiderin in tissues, which can be caused by the progressive breakdown of red blood cells and a failure in their removal from tissues, etc.

Side effects Iron saccharate-iron wine.

In most cases, side effects of Iron saccharate-iron wine are either not observed at all, or are very weak and are observed quite rarely.

  • Gastrointestinal tract dysfunction: feeling of fullness in the stomach, heaviness and bloating.
  • Faeces may be darkened by taking Iron saccharate-iron wine. In this case, therapeutic adjustment is not required.
  • Rarely enough, but still observed diarrhea, minor nausea. People who are predisposed to constipation, this symptom occurs.

Overdose

It would seem that this is such a harmless drug, but any excess, even for good reasons, is fraught with unpredictable consequences, so you should carefully read the instructions for the drug and strictly follow the doctor's recommendations.

Overdose of the drug Iron saccharate-iron wine is quite problematic and unlikely. The absorption of trivalent iron from the drug is quite easy. This occurs through active progressive transport. The volumes of absorbed iron are determined based on the indicator of the deficiency of the element in question in the patient's systemic organization. But the body will "take in" exactly as much iron as is necessary to restore the physiological norm, and no more.

Excess of Iron saccharate-iron wine, which is "not needed" by the body, is almost immediately excreted from the body along with feces and urine. At the same time, some discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract may appear, caused by irritation of the mucous membrane by excess components of the drug. To relieve this symptomatology, the attending physician recommends taking mucous decoctions or cytoprotective gels in parallel with Iron saccharate-iron wine, which have an inhibitory effect on the activation of neutrophils.

Interactions with other drugs

You should not self-medicate and prescribe yourself medications that you think are necessary. This is especially true for the complex intake of one or more medications, since a non-specialist cannot predict what interactions will occur between the chemical compounds of various medications and what consequences may occur.

Therefore, it is necessary to be as familiar as possible with and know the specifics of the interaction of Iron saccharate-iron wine with other drugs.

Laboratory and clinical monitoring showed that the combined use of folic acid medications, as well as vitamin B12 with Iron saccharate-iron wine significantly increases the effectiveness of the latter. An increase in the concentration of iron in the liver can be achieved after complex treatment with allopurinol, which stops failures in the synthesis of uric acid.

The effectiveness of drugs containing tetracycline decreases when combined with medicinal iron-reducing substances. The ability to absorb iron from saccharate-iron wine decreases when combined with cholestyramine. It is necessary, if possible, to avoid taking the drug in question simultaneously with tocopherol to prevent a decline in the biochemical activity of the latter.
