Release form

The release of the drug produced in tablets of 25 or 50 mg, in the amount of 30 pieces inside the pack.

Pharmacodynamics

The active element of the drug prevents the synthesis of progesterone and androgenic endings with aldosterone, which is involved in the regulation of blood pressure levels and the appearance of pathologies of the CVS function. When eplerenone is added to treatment in patients with CHF, an increase in aldosterone levels is predicted.

Using Inspra in people with acute myocardial infarction significantly reduces the likelihood of mortality in this category of disease.

The antihypertensive effect on average develops after a 14-day period, and after 1 month of regular use reaches maximum levels. The severity of the impact lasts for 8-24 weeks.

trusted-source[2]

Pharmacokinetics

Absorption of eplerenone, as well as its distribution within the body, is carried out at high speed (the Cmax level is noted after 2 hours). Bioavailability is 69%. Eating does not affect the degree of absorption.

The intraplasma protein synthesis of eplerenone is 50%; binding to red blood cells is not observed.

Excretion by 67% occurs with urine, and another 32% with feces. The half-life is approximately 3-5 hours.

Dosing and administration

In the case of CHF or myocardial infarction, the therapy should be started with a portion of 25 mg and then increased to 50 mg over the course of the first month (controlling the blood values of potassium). Use medication should be 1-time per day.

The use of drugs does not depend on the use of food.

Use Inspira during pregnancy

Information on the use of the drug in pregnant women is not available. The data that were obtained after tests on animals do not demonstrate a mediated or direct negative effect on the course of pregnancy, fetal and postnatal development, as well as on the process of childbirth. Pregnant drug is prescribed with great caution.

There is no information as to whether eplerenone is excreted with breast milk when taken orally. At the same time, preclinical testing has shown that eplenon or its metabolic products are found inside the milk of rats, but this does not affect the development of their offspring. Because there is no information about the possibility of developing negative symptoms in infants, it is necessary to decide whether to cancel breastfeeding or taking the medication - taking into account its importance for the woman.
