One of the popular and at the same time effective methods of treating wheezing and hoarseness in the voice is inhalation. Procedures with a nebulizer are allowed for patients from the age of one.

Inhalations have a complex effect on the body:

  • Relieve cough attacks.
  • Helps loosen and expel mucus.
  • Relieve swelling and inflammation.
  • Reduce pain and hoarseness.

As preparations for inhalation with hoarseness in children , herbal decoctions and infusions, saline, mineral water, and medications prescribed by a doctor are used.

  1. Furacillin

Antiseptic and disinfectant. Shows a pronounced activity against staphylococci, streptococci and other pathogens. Stimulates the processes of wound healing and granulation.

  • Indications for use: diseases of the larynx and oral cavity, pleural empyema, anaerobic infections, chronic suppurative otitis media, burns.
  • Dosage and administration: externally in the form of an aqueous 0.02% solution. To prepare the medicine, 1 tablet is dissolved in 100 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution or warm purified water. The finished liquid is cooled to room temperature and used for rinsing, washing, inhalation. The frequency of procedures and the duration of treatment depend on the causes and severity of the disease state.
  • Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, allergic dermatoses.
  • Adverse reactions: irritation of the oral mucosa, dermatitis, allergic reactions. For treatment, drug withdrawal is indicated. Overdose is manifested by increased side effects, symptomatic treatment.

Release form: tablets of 10 pieces in a blister.

  1. Eufillin

The drug with the active ingredient is theophylline. Has antispasmodic properties. Relaxes the muscles of the bronchi, reduces the resistance of blood vessels, dilates the coronary vessels, lowers the pressure in the pulmonary artery system. Also, the drug has diuretic properties, inhibits platelet aggregation.

  • Indications for use: bronchial asthma, bronchospasm (sharp narrowing of the lumen of the bronchi), hypertension in the pulmonary circulation, cardiac asthma, respiratory disorders of the Cheyne-Stokes type.
  • Method of application: orally, intravenously, subcutaneously, inhalation, rectally. The dosage and duration of therapy is determined by the attending physician, individually for each patient.
  • Side effects: digestive disorders, dizziness, lowering blood pressure, headaches, heart palpitations, convulsions.

Release form: powder for the preparation of a solution, tablets of 0.15 g of 30 pieces per pack, ampoules of 10 ml of a 2.4% solution and 1 ml of a 24% solution in packs of 10 pieces.

  1. Saline

A solution of sodium chloride 0.9% normalizes the water-salt balance in the body. It is used for the preparation of solutions of drugs for external and parenteral use, for washing wounds, eyes, mucous membranes.

The drug is used intravenously, subcutaneously, intramuscularly, inhalation. There are no adverse reactions, cases of overdose are unlikely. Saline is contraindicated for use in case of incompatibility of the main drug and the solvent. Available in 1 ml, 2 ml, 5 ml in ampoules No. 10

  1. Mineral waters (Borjomi, Luzhanskaya, Polyana Kvasova, Narzan, Essentuki No. 4 and No. 17.

Inhalations with mineral waters stimulate the excretion of sputum much better than expectorant tablets and syrups. This method of treatment moisturizes the mucous membranes, stimulates the cleansing of the mucous membrane from pathogenic mucus and pathogens.

To achieve a positive result, 3-4 inhalations per day are carried out. The duration of the procedure is from 5 to 15 minutes. At the same time, it is not recommended to drink liquid 30 minutes before the procedure.

Inhalation with hoarseness in a child with a nebulizer

Inhalations have proven to be an effective remedy in the fight against sore throat and voice disorders. To facilitate the procedure, use a special device - a nebulizer. The device turns a liquid drug into a medical aerosol. There are several types of nebulizers:

  1. Compressor - allow the use of almost all medicines. By compressing air in a special chamber, the liquid preparation is converted into an aerosol. They have the widest application, but are bulky and loud during operation.
  2. Ultrasonic - the transformation of the drug into an aerosol occurs by exposure to ultrasound. But in the process of converting a liquid solution, ultrasound destroys part of the drug. Such nebulizers are used in hospitals, physiotherapy departments.
  3. Mesh inhalers - inhalation of all liquid preparations, but do not destroy them. Combine the advantages of ultrasonic and compressor devices.

When using a nebulizer, the drug enters the larynx, therefore it is not absorbed into the systemic circulation and is not destroyed in the liver. The bioavailability of the drug is 100%, and the risk of side effects is minimal.

The main advantages of using a nebulizer for inhalation in a child:

  • The content of the drug in the respiratory tract is 2 times higher than with other methods of drug administration.
  • The drug acts directly on the lesion.
  • The possibility of carrying out the procedure for patients of any age, including newborns.
  • non-invasive therapy.
  • The possibility of carrying out the procedure at home.

Inhalation is carried out no earlier than one hour after eating. During the procedure, it is forbidden to talk, the patient must breathe as usual. Strongly deep breaths are dangerous with hyperventilation, the development of headaches and dizziness, coughing, nausea and vomiting.

If dysphonia is caused by inflammatory processes in the respiratory system, then inhalations are best done through facial oil. Breathing should be even, calm, through the mouth. After the procedure, rinse your mouth thoroughly with boiled water.

Preparations for inhalation are prescribed by a pediatrician. For procedures with a nebulizer, the following drugs can be used:

For inhalation, it is forbidden to use any essential oils, they are best used for steam inhalation. Herbal decoctions and infusions are banned because they contain heterogeneous particles that can cause allergic and other adverse reactions. Infusions and decoctions are best used for rinsing.

Pulmicort with hoarseness in a child

Pulmicort is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid for inhalation use. The drug is used in the treatment of bronchial asthma and affects all parts of the pathological process. The active components of the drug affect glucocorticosteroid receptors, regulating the synthesis of various substances. Genes encoding the synthesis of anti-inflammatory substances and suppressing the activity of pro-inflammatory factors fall under the scope.

Pulmicort in its mechanism of action is similar to glucocorticoid receptors, has a low lipophilicity, which makes it easy to penetrate through the layer of mucous secretion in the bronchi. The active substances penetrate into the tissues, but their metabolites are not detected in plasma, which indicates a high selectivity of the drug.

Pulmicort also has anti-anaphylactic properties, reduces bronchial obstruction in early and late allergic reactions.

  • Indications for use: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma (prevention of exacerbations).
  • Method of application: if the drug is used through a nebulizer, the daily dose should not exceed 1000 mcg. Reception is carried out once, taking the entire dose at a time. If necessary, the dosage can be divided into several doses. The initial dose for children from 6 months is 250-500 mcg per day, the maintenance dose is 250-2000 mcg per day.
  • Side effects: irritation of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract, candidal lesions of the oropharynx, cough and dry mouth. Increased excitability and nervousness, depression, clouding of consciousness. Signs of systemic action of glucocorticosteroids, hypofunction of the adrenal cortex, allergic reactions.
  • Contraindications: hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, patients under 6 months of age. It is prescribed with caution for pulmonary tuberculosis (active, inactive form), cirrhosis of the liver, viral, bacterial or fungal diseases of the respiratory system.
  • Overdose: in acute overdose, clinical symptoms do not occur. Chronic overdose is manifested by reactions of hypercortisolism, suppression of adrenal function, weight gain, muscle weakness, arterial hypertension and other symptoms. Treatment is carried out by gradually reducing the dosage.

Release form: suspension for inhalation through a nebulizer, 2 ml, 20 pcs. Packaged. Powder for inhalation in a metered dose inhaler for 100/200 doses.

Berodual for hoarseness in a child

A drug with a pronounced bronchodilator effect. The expansion of the lumen of the bronchi is due to the active components of Berodual - ipratropium bromide and fenoterol. The drug is effective in complex bronchodilator therapy for various diseases with an increase in the tone of the bronchial muscles.

  • Indications for use: respiratory failure in obstructive bronchitis, emphysematous bronchitis, bronchopulmonary diseases with bronchospasm. It is prescribed for acute attacks of bronchial asthma and in the preparation of the respiratory tract for aerosol administration of drugs.
  • Method of application: for children over 3 years old and adults, 1-2 doses of aerosol are prescribed 2-3 times a day. If there is a threat of respiratory failure, then 2 doses of an aerosol are used and after 5 minutes another 2 doses. The solution for inhalation is used 2-8 drops 3-6 times a day. The duration of therapy is determined by the attending physician.
  • Side effects: impaired visual perception, tremor of the extremities, dry mouth, increased intraocular pressure, rapid non-rhythmic contractions of the heart muscle.

Erespal with hoarseness in a child

A drug with anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits exudation and prevents bronchoconstriction. The anti-inflammatory activity of the active substance fenspiride is due to the inhibition of the metabolism of arachidonic acid. The anti-bronchoconstrictor effect is due to the inhibition of arachidonic acid. The drug Erespal blocks α-adrenergic receptors, since their stimulation causes an increase in the production of bronchial secretions

  • Indications for use: bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis with bronchial obstruction. Rhinitis, otitis media, sinusitis, rhinopharyngitis and other diseases of the upper respiratory tract. The drug is prescribed to reduce respiratory syndromes in acute respiratory diseases, whooping cough, measles. It is also prescribed for rhinitis of allergic origin.
  • Method of application: children under 14 years of age are prescribed only syrup, which is taken before meals. The dosage depends on the age and body weight of the baby.
