No matter how effective some drugs are, doctors always prefer complex treatment. This is understandable, because with the right selection of drugs, you can achieve an increase in the therapeutic effect and at the same time ensure the prevention of complications.

For example, anti-inflammatory action is characteristic of antibiotics, NSAIDs, and corticosteroids. But with an infection, one cannot do without antimicrobial agents, and the antibiotics themselves provide an anti-inflammatory effect only in terms of destroying the provoking factor. In this case, the body will need time for the inflammation to subside, and during this period another infection may join and the disease will gradually become chronic.

But what about herbalism? The fact is that the herbs used for cystitis, although they have several properties, not all of them are expressed to the same extent. In addition, the combined use of different herbs with different effects, when properly combined, provides potentiation of the action, which enhances the therapeutic effect.

This explains this point: both traditional and alternative medicine in relation to the treatment of inflammatory bladder disease tends to use not so much individual herbs as their collections. So in the acute form of cystitis, you can use the following mixtures of herbs:

  • Grass hernia and plantain leaf (10 g each), pharmacy asparagus, lemon balm, prickly tartar (20 g each), harrow (30 g), oregano (50 g).

We take 1 tbsp. Mixture of plants, brew with boiling water (0.5 liters) and leave at room temperature until the composition has completely cooled. The infusion will need to be filtered before use. You need to take the medicine for 2 tbsp. With an interval of 2 hours.

  • Watercress (aka watercress), iris and wormwood (10 g each), burial ground (aka harmala), lycopodium and bedstraw (20 g each), bearberry (30 g).

We prepare the infusion by analogy with the previous recipe. Single dose - half a cup.

  • Bearberry, plantain, chamomile. We take plants in equal parts. For 750 g of boiling water, you need to take 4.5 tablespoons. Collection of herbs. Keep the infusion for 3 hours at room temperature. You need to take it half a glass at a time, until we use the entire volume. In this case, you need to drink the infusion within 2-3 hours. To improve the taste and enhance antimicrobial properties, you can add a spoonful of honey to the infusion. The effect is enough for a day.
  • Ground parts of motherwort and horsetail, St. John's wort in the form of grass with inflorescences, flowers of tricolor violet. All plants are taken in equal quantities. For a glass of boiling water, use 1 tbsp. Collection. We make the infusion first in a water bath (10 minutes), then put it in a warm place for half an hour. The composition should be drunk in the amount of 2-3 glasses per day for acute inflammatory processes in the kidneys and bladder.

Treatment of the chronic form of cystitis has its own characteristics, and hence a different selection of herbs:

  • A collection of nettle leaves, St. John's wort and bearberry, plantain leaves and rose hips is quite suitable for this purpose. We take plants in equal proportions. For 750 ml of water, it is recommended to use 3 tbsp. Collection. We boil the composition for 5 minutes and insist another quarter of an hour. Strained composition should be drunk during the day for 3-4 doses. It should be taken half an hour before meals.

The decoction is recommended to be used in courses for six months or more.

  • Chamomile, calendula, yarrow, corn silk. 4 tbsp collection, pour ½ liter of boiling water and insist for 2 hours. We take 150-160 ml three times a day for half an hour before meals.

The course of treatment is 10 days. You need to repeat the courses monthly for six months.

  • Juniper, birch leaves, bearberry, horsetail. For half a liter of boiling water we take 2 tbsp. Herbal collection, leave in a thermos for 8 hours. We take 50-70 ml no more than 5 times a day before meals. The course of treatment is about 2 months, after which you need to take a 2-week break and repeat the treatment.

There are also such fees that can be taken with any form of inflammation of the bladder:

  • Lingonberry, nettle, chamomile, marshmallow, tansy. We take 1 tbsp for a glass of boiling water. Collection, insist in a thermos for 4 hours. We drink instead of tea in small portions three times a day after meals.

In acute cystitis, it is recommended to take herbs in different quantities, except for a lingonberry leaf. It needs to be taken 4 times more than the other components of the collection.

  • Basil, St. John's wort, hops, centaury (2 parts each), mountaineer (4 parts). For 2 liters of boiling water we take 4 tbsp. Collection, insist for an hour, filter and take 1 glass up to 7 times a day.

This recipe is useful for purulent forms of the disease.

For those who intend to independently compile a collection of herbs from cystitis, you can follow these tips:

  • The collection should include 3 or more herbs that have beneficial effects on inflammation of the bladder, adding a plant with a general strengthening and immunostimulating effect.
  • The antispasmodic effect, which is very important for relieving pain in acute cystitis, has such herbs: chamomile, St. John's wort, cinquefoil, tansy, immortelle, cudweed and some others.
  • When compiling the collection, it is necessary to take into account the tolerance of various herbs by the body and the toxicity of plants.
  • It is better to use familiar herbs, given their contraindications.

It is clear that home treatment is a certain risk that needs to be realized, because we do not always have the necessary knowledge about herbs and the consequences of their use, combination possibilities, etc.

Herbal preparations can be made independently or purchased ready-made. Herbal complexes for the treatment of cystitis are less common than those used for inflammatory pathologies of the kidneys, but they are usually interchangeable. Renal collection for cystitis is recommended even by doctors.

For example, with inflammation of any parts of the urinary system, a diuretic renal collection may be recommended: bearberry leaves, juniper berries and licorice root. Collection actions: diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic (analgesic, since the pain of cystitis is spasmodic), antimicrobial.

Diuretic collection is used as follows: take 1 tbsp for a glass of boiling water. Collection, insist for half an hour and take strained 1 tbsp. 20 minutes before meals. Multiplicity of reception - 3 times a day.

Let's pay attention to kidney herbal teas. Here is the composition of one of them: St. John's wort, knotweed, corn stigmas, cranberries, goldenrod, calamus, mint, calendula, nettle, horsetail. This multi-component collection contains most of the herbs used in the treatment of acute and chronic cystitis, which means it can be used for this disease, after all, the urinary system is a complex of interconnected organs, so complex treatment gives a more stable result.
