A perennial medicinal plant used in the treatment of endocrine diseases is galega. Goat's rue is popular as a folk remedy for diabetes, but has also gained recognition in traditional medicine.

The effectiveness of the herb is based on its composition:

  • Saponins are complex plant glycoside compounds.
  • Carbohydrates are the basis of the body's cells and tissues.
  • Ascorbic acid is an antioxidant that takes part in metabolic processes.
  • Tannins – have a bactericidal and astringent effect.
  • Carotene is a substance with powerful antioxidant properties and immunostimulating action.

In addition to the above components, goat's rue contains steroids, alkaloids, linoleic and stearic acid, sucrose. The use of galega in diabetes is explained by its hypoglycemic, diaphoretic and diuretic properties. The plant has the following effect:

  • Normalizes blood sugar levels and minimizes sudden changes.
  • Removes excess cholesterol from the body.
  • Helps strengthen the smooth muscles of internal organs.
  • Strengthens the walls of blood vessels.
  • Has a beneficial effect on gluconeogenesis and liver function.

Recipes for diabetes treatment

  1. Take the dried and crushed top of the goat's rue and pour 500 ml of boiling water over it. The remedy should be infused for 10-12 hours. Strain before use and take 3-4 times a day.
  2. Pour cold water over the dry seeds of the plant and place on low heat for 5-7 minutes. Bring to a boil, strain and take. The decoction has a diuretic effect.
  3. Pour alcohol or vodka over the fresh tops of the plant. The strength of the tincture should be 45 degrees. The remedy should be infused for a month. The medicine is taken 3-5 drops 2-3 times a day.
  4. To speed up the healing of wounds, you can use goat's rue juice. The grass should be thoroughly crushed and the juice squeezed out. The resulting liquid is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10. The drink is taken orally, 50 drops 3-4 times a day.

The use of goat's rue lowers the level of glucose in the bloodstream, stimulates metabolic processes in the body and activates the cells of the pancreas. Long-term use of the product helps maintain normal sugar levels for a long period of time.

But do not forget that in addition to the beneficial effect, goat's rue can cause side effects, as it is a poisonous plant. Most often, patients experience gastrointestinal disorders due to increased impact on the intestinal muscles. The herb is contraindicated in severe hypertension, during pregnancy and lactation.
