The drug Ziel T is a multi-component combined homeopathic remedy, manufactured by Biologische Heilmittel Heel GmbH (Germany).

Indications Purpose T

Indications for the use of this drug include degenerative arthritis of various localizations, arthrosis (in particular, gonarthrosis), polyarthrosis, spondyloarthrosis, joint stiffness.

Injection solution in 2 ml ampoules, lozenges (sublingual), ointment in 50 g tubes.

Pharmacodynamics

In the instructions for homeopathic preparations, pharmacodynamics, i.e. the mechanism of therapeutic effect, is described as being determined by their components. The principle of homeopathic treatment differs from allopathic, and the biochemical reactions of substances used in homeopathy have not been fully studied (the FDA does not evaluate the safety of homeopathic preparations).

How exactly the drug Ziel T has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, as well as how its components stimulate metabolism in cartilage tissue and the formation of new cells (chondrocytes), is not explained. And the names of the ingredients are not translated.

All forms of the drug Ziel T contain up to fifteen components. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (Nadidum) or NADH is an intracellular coenzyme, a derivative of vitamin B3, transfers electrons during oxidation-reduction reactions, including the metabolism of purine bases. Coenzyme A (Coenzymum A) is a coenzyme of acetylation processes in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, which provides tissue cells with ATP and maintains intracellular metabolism. Acidum alpha-liponicum or α-lipoic acid exhibits antioxidant properties. Acidum silicicum - silicic acid - helps retain calcium and strengthen cartilage. Sulfur (Sulphur) is used for diathesis, chronic rhinitis and rheumatism.

Among the substances of plant origin, Ziel T contains:

• extract of the root of comfrey - medicinal comfrey Symphytum officinale, which has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties due to the presence of allantoin;


• extract of the root of the Canadian cinquefoil (Sanguinaria canadensis) - contains the same alkaloids as opium poppy and celandine: sanguinarine (causes convulsions), chelerythrine, homochelidonine and protopine (cause paralysis of the central nervous system);


• Arnica montana extract – used in homeopathy for bruises as a pain reliever, insomnia, skin itching, cramps, and gastric atony;


• nightshade extract Solanum dulcamara - contains the alkaloid solanine, which causes inflammation of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system; in homeopathy it is used to treat rheumatism (which is aggravated by cold and dampness), bladder, asthma and diathesis;


• Ivy Rhus toxicodendron (oakleaf or rooting ivy) is constantly used in homotoxic remedies for joint pain.

Ziel T also contains ingredients of animal origin that affect intracellular metabolism: extracts from pig cartilage (Cartilago suis), umbilical cord (Funiculus umbilicalis suis), embryonic tissue (Embryo suis) and placenta (Placenta suis).

Use Purpose T during pregnancy

According to the official instructions for the drug Ziel T, its use during pregnancy and lactation has not been studied. Given the content of alkaloids of Canadian cinquefoil, this drug is contraindicated for pregnant women.

Contraindications

Ziel T is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to the substances included in the drug. Tablets and injection solution are not used until the age of 18, ointment – until the age of 12.

Side effects Purpose T

The most pronounced side effects of Ziel T include skin rashes, itching, joint pain (when injected into the joints), nausea, stomach pain and other gastrointestinal symptoms.

The above mentioned alkaloids of Sanguinaria canadensis can lead to an increase in the level of liver transaminases and bilirubin in the blood serum, causing drug-induced hepatitis.

Dosing and administration

The injection solution Ziel T is intended for subcutaneous, intravenous, periarticular and paravertebral administration - twice a week, 2 ml (1 ampoule).

Ziel T tablets should be kept under the tongue until completely dissolved – no more than three times a day, one tablet at a time.

The ointment is applied locally, a small amount is applied to the skin above the joint (2-3 times a day) and rubbed in lightly; a bandage may be applied.

Overdose

The instructions note that there have been no reports of overdose of the homeopathic remedy Ziel T.
