Release form

Gedelix eucaps is available in 10 capsules inside a blister pack. The pack contains 2 or 5 blister plates.

Gedelix drops without alcohol - is issued in the form of a solution in a flacon-dropper with a volume of 50 ml. Inside a separate package - 1 bottle with a solution.

Gedelix syrup from cough is contained in a vial of 100 ml. Inside the pack - 1 bottle of syrup, as well as a measuring spoon.

Pharmacodynamics

Gedelix is of vegetable origin. It contains a dense extract of ivy leaves. With inflammation in the respiratory system, this component has an antispasmodic effect and helps to dilute sputum. This is due to the properties of glycoside saponins, which are contained inside the leaves of ivy.

Under the influence of the medicine irritation of the gastric mucosa occurs, as a result of which the excretory glands of the bronchi (on the bronchial mucosa) are subjected to reflex stimulation by the sensitive receptors of the parasympathetic system.

Dosing and administration

Take capsules children from 12 years and adults - 1 piece 2-3 times a day (swallow whole, without chewing and washing with water - 0.5 cup).

If signs of the disease persist for more than 3 days of treatment or worsening of the patient's condition (with the development of a lack of breathing, an increase in temperature, the appearance of purulent or bloody sputum), it is necessary to consult a doctor.

Gedelix syrup is recommended to drink without diluting it, but at the same time washing down with water after taking a serving. The medication is not dependent on eating.

The duration of the therapeutic course depends on the degree of severity and type of pathology, but also for a mild form of the disease in the respiratory system, the course should last at least 7 days. After the signs of the disease disappear, it is required to continue therapy for another 2-3 days.

The duration of the use of the syrup without medical consultation can not exceed several days.

Also, the syrup with droplets is not taken in case of hypersensitivity to the elements of the drug or other plants from the group of aral, and in addition to the disorder of urea metabolism. It is also forbidden to take fructosemia of an hereditary type.

  • in children under 12 years of age;
  • with intolerance of eucalyptus oil and other components of drugs;
  • in the presence of inflammation in the area of GVP and the digestive tract;

Overdose

In case of an overdose of syrup, signs such as vomiting, gastroenteritis, nausea and diarrhea, and a feeling of excitement may appear. Treatment is symptomatic.

Taking excessive capsules can lead to the development of gastrointestinal disorders (the symptoms are indicated above), and also from the side of the central nervous system (this includes dizziness, drowsiness, headaches and speech disorders, and in some cases, convulsions). Also among the symptoms: heartburn, delirium and suffocation, and in addition cyanosis, ataxia, weakness in the muscles and miosis.

Among the manifestations of severe intoxication: cardiogenic collapse, coma and uneven surface breathing.

In people who took 30 ml of eucalyptus oil, cardiac arrhythmia was observed. There is also information about a single disorder in the kidneys with the development of hematuria and anuria with albuminuria (in the case of ingestion of 120-220 ml of substance).

Therapy is symptomatic. There is no information on a specific antidote. Since there is a risk of aspiration, induce vomiting is prohibited. It is required to provide the victim with the necessary amount of fluid in the body (excluding alcohol and milk, because these drinks can cause resorption of the active components of the capsules inside the blood).

The use of any medicinal methods depends on the clinical signs and the amount of medication used. With the use of a small amount of drugs and the absence of signs of intoxication in a person (or if there is only vomiting and slight dizziness), it will be enough to simply observe the state of health during a few hours.

When using a large number of drugs or when severe clinical manifestations occur, gastric lavage is required after the procedure of intubation of the trachea. Further, it is necessary to take activated charcoal, and if there are spasms, diazepam is needed. In addition, the kidneys should be monitored.

Interactions with other drugs

In animal tests, the substance cineol, which is the main element of eucalyptus oil, had a stimulating effect on the metabolism of hepatic enzymes. As a consequence, there may be a weakening or a decrease in the effectiveness of other drugs. Now such reactions are noted in pyrazolone with barbiturates, and in addition, hypnotics, analgesics and anticonvulsants.
