Release form

Fexofast is available in tablets, ten pieces per plate. Each pill contains 180 or 120 mg of the active substance. A cardboard package may contain ten or thirty of these tablets.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug exhibits antiallergic, antihistamine activity. Refers to non-sedative isolators of H1-histamine nerve endings. Is a product of Terdenafine metabolism.

The antihistamine effect appears within an hour after consumption, reaching its highest values after six hours and remaining active throughout the day.

There is no evidence of tolerance developing with repeated use.

It also does not exhibit cholinolytic, adrenolytic or sedative activity. In addition, if the recommended dosage is not exceeded, it does not contribute to the occurrence of any changes in calcium or potassium passages and the QT interval.

Pharmacokinetics

After taking a Fexofast tablet, it is quickly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. The drug reaches its maximum density after 1-3 hours. Thus, at a dose of 180 mg, the highest density is 494 ng/ml, 120 mg – 427 ng/ml.

The drug binds to plasma proteins by 60–70 percent (mainly albumin and alpha1-glycoprotein).

There is no data on the penetration of Fexofast through the blood-brain septum.

After repeated use, the half-life is 14.4 hours. It should be noted that in patients with moderate to severe renal insufficiency, as well as those undergoing hemodialysis, this time interval will increase by 59, 72 and 31%, respectively.

Five percent of a drug dose is metabolized outside the liver.

Excretion occurs: through bile (eighty percent) and kidneys (eleven percent).

Dosing and administration

Fexofast should be taken orally. Adults and children over twelve years of age with allergic rhinitis - 120 mg of the drug once a day.

In case of such a pathology as chronic urticaria – 180 mg of Fexofast also once a day.

Use Fexofasta during pregnancy

Gestational period

There is insufficient information about the possibility of using Fexofast in this period. Animal tests show that this medication does not directly or indirectly affect the bearing of a child, embryonic or postnatal development and labor. Therefore, Fexovast can be used in the gestation period, but only if the effect for the mother exceeds the risk to the child.

Lactation period

Since there is evidence that Fexofast penetrates into breast milk, it should not be taken during breastfeeding.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, pregnancy, lactation period, childhood (under twelve years).

Side effects Fexofasta

Adverse drug effects:

  • The patient taking Fexofast should be aware that he/she may experience the following adverse reactions:
  • Headache;
  • Fatigue;
  • Nausea;
  • Dizziness;
  • Sleep disorders;
  • Skin rash;
  • Hives;
  • Skin itching;
  • Dyspnea;
  • Quincke's edema.

Overdose

Excessive use of Fexofast may cause dizziness and dry mouth.

In this case, it is necessary to carry out a set of standard measures to remove unabsorbed medicine from the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, symptomatic and supportive treatment will also be required. The hemodialysis procedure will not be effective in this case.

Interactions with other drugs

When using Fexofast simultaneously with certain medications, it is worth keeping in mind that:

  1. With erythromycin or ketoconazole, the density of Fexofenadine in the blood serum increases significantly (two to three times).
  2. If you use an antacid containing Mg or Al fifteen minutes before Fexofast, the bioavailability of the anti-allergy medication will decrease. Therefore, at least two hours should pass between the use of these medications.
  3. Fexofast does not interact with omeprazole and drugs that are metabolized in the liver.

There are many reviews of Fexofast from people who take it for allergic rhinitis or urticaria. And almost all of them are about how effective this drug is. It is due to this that Fexofast has taken its niche among the great variety of different allergy remedies.

But, of course, it is worth keeping in mind that this drug is a medicinal product, so before you start using it, be sure to consult with your doctor.
