- to prevent the occurrence of allergic symptoms during hyposensitizing procedures.
Emulsion with gel can be used for the following pathologies:
- itching affecting the skin, which has various etiologies (eczema, dermatoses, insect bites or urticaria), excluding cases where the cause is cholestasis;
- various burns (household, sun, etc.).
Fenistil Pencivir is used for common herpes of a recurrent nature, which often develops on the lips.

The medicinal product is released in the form of orally administered drops and tablets, as well as in the form of an emulsion and gel.
The drops are produced in 20 ml bottles with a dropper.
The gel for external treatment is sold in tubes of 30 or 50 g.
The emulsion for external use is available in 8 ml bottles, similar in shape to a roller pencil.
The tablets are called Fenistil 24.
Fenistil pencivir
Fenistil pencivir is a 1% cream for local external treatment, which has a tinting effect. It is produced in tubes of 2 or 5 g.
Pharmacodynamics
The active ingredient of the drug is a competitive histamine antagonist. The drug has antiallergic and antipruritic properties, helps to strengthen the strength of weakened capillaries, which lead to the development of allergy symptoms in humans. This is the reason for the frequent use of Fenistil for allergies. In addition, the drug has a weak m-anticholinergic and antibradykinin effect. When using drops of LS in the daytime, a weak sedative effect may be observed.
The gel or emulsion applied to the epidermis helps to reduce the intensity of irritation and itching caused by allergies, and at the same time has a local anesthetic effect. The emulsion helps to cool, moisturize and soften the epidermal layer.
Fenistil pencivir is an antiviral agent with pronounced activity against herpes simplex viruses (types 1 and 2), EBV, CMV and chickenpox viruses.
The medicine helps block the processes of viral reproduction (this virus stays inside the body of a large number of people for a long time, remaining inactive). The catalysts for the activation of its reproduction processes are factors such as acute respiratory infections, chronic fatigue syndrome or colds. As a result, a fever develops, which manifests itself as a blister-shaped rash on the lips, as well as in the area around them.
Using the cream speeds up the healing process, reduces the intensity of pain and reduces the likelihood of infection.

Pharmacokinetics
After oral administration, the active component of Fenistil is absorbed at high speed and almost completely. Peak values are recorded after 2 hours from the moment of administration. Bioavailability values are about 70%. The drug passes into tissues without complications.
Metabolic processes occur in the liver through methoxylation with hydroxylation.
The half-life is approximately 6 hours. Excretion is with bile and urine (only 10% of the drug is excreted unchanged, and the remaining 90% is excreted in the form of decay products).
When applied topically, the medication easily penetrates the epidermis, and its overall bioavailability is 10%. The medication begins to act within a few minutes of skin treatment.

Dosing and administration
Scheme of use of medicinal drops.
The drops are taken orally. The daily serving size for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age is 3-6 mg (or 60-120 drops), which is divided into 3 equal doses. People with a strong tendency to drowsiness need to take 20 drops of the drug during the first half of the day, as well as 40 drops of the drug before going to bed.
Infants aged 1-12 months are given the medicine in a dose of 3-10 drops three times a day. A child aged 1-3 years is recommended to take 10-15 drops three times a day. Patients aged 3-12 years should take 15-20 drops of the medicine three times a day.
If necessary, drops can be added to a bottle of infant formula.
Methods of using the gel.
The gel should be applied externally - to the areas affected by the disease. 2-4 such procedures are performed per day. In case of high intensity of irritation or itching, and in addition to this, in case of widespread forms of epidermal lesions, the doctor may recommend using the gel in combination with Fenistil drops or another oral form of the drug.
During treatment with the gel, it is necessary to avoid exposure of the areas previously treated with the medicine to UV radiation. For this reason, it is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight.
The same scheme is used in the treatment of children. It is possible to use the gel in newborns, but only after a preliminary discussion of this issue with the doctor and under his supervision.
Mode of use of medicinal emulsion.
It is intended for external use - using a pencil roller, it is applied to the skin 2-4 times a day (the frequency depends on the doctor's instructions). The emulsion can be used in children.
Scheme for taking the tablet form of the drug.
The tablets should not be taken by persons under 12 years of age.
Usually, you need to take 1 tablet per day, because the medicinal effect of the drug lasts 24 hours. It is recommended to take it in the evening, so as not to feel sleepy. The capsule should be swallowed whole, washing it down with plain water.
The duration of such a treatment cycle can be a maximum of 25 days.
Using Fenistil Pencivir cream.
To treat the epidermis or mucous membrane affected by herpes, squeeze a little cream onto your finger or cotton swab, then apply it to the desired area. This procedure must be repeated at intervals of 2 hours, no more than 7-8 times a day for a period of 4 days.
It is advisable to start using the drug immediately after the first symptoms of infection appear. It is also necessary to adhere to the duration of the therapeutic period specified in the instructions, even if the symptoms of the disease disappear after 2 days of therapy.
The cream should be applied only to those areas on the lips and around the mouth where herpes has appeared. It is prohibited to apply it to the oral or nasal mucosa, eye membranes and genitals.
People with weakened immune systems should consult a doctor first.
If there is no improvement after 4 days of therapy, or the condition even worsens, it is recommended to consult a specialist.

Overdose
When taking the drug orally, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the specified dosage, because there is a high probability of intoxication. Because of this, the CNS function may be suppressed or severe drowsiness may develop (in an adult). Stimulation of the CNS activity and the development of m-anticholinergic symptoms (usually occur in children) are also possible, including a feeling of excitement, mydriasis, dry mouth, tachycardia, convulsions with blood flow, ataxia, fever and hallucinations. In addition, this list includes the development of collapse, urinary retention and a decrease in blood pressure.
In case of poisoning with Fenistil, it is necessary to give the victim activated carbon and a saline laxative. Also, to eliminate the consequences of an overdose, measures are taken to maintain respiratory activity and the work of the cardiovascular system.
Interactions with other drugs
The effect of the drug potentiates the effect exerted on the body by anxiolytics and hypnotics.
When combined with ethyl alcohol, inhibition of psychomotor manifestations is observed.
The combination of Fenistil with MAOIs potentiates the cholinolytic effect, and in addition, the suppressive effect exerted on the central nervous system.
The combination of m-anticholinergics with tricyclics leads to an increased likelihood of increased IOP values.
Storage conditions
Fenistil should be stored in a place closed to small children. The temperature level for all therapeutic forms, except for the cream, is a maximum of 30°C. Fenistil Pencivir cream should be stored at a temperature not exceeding 25°C and is prohibited from freezing.
Shelf life
Fenistil can be used within 36 months from the date of manufacture of the drug.
Application for children
Drops cannot be prescribed to infants under 1 year of age. For older children, it is important to carefully follow the dosages prescribed by the doctor. Fenistil drops should be prescribed to children with caution, because there is a risk of developing sleep apnea.
The gel form of the drug can be prescribed to children of any age, but it is still recommended to use it under the supervision of a pediatrician.
Fenistil pencivir can be used by children over 12 years of age.
