Classification of erosions of the stomach and duodenum:

  1. Primary erosions.
  2. Secondary erosions (concomitant with the underlying disease).
  3. Erosion as a manifestation of a malignant or systemic process in the gastric mucosa (malignant erosion in cancer, lymphoma, Crohn's disease, etc.).
  4. Benign erosion:
    1. Erosions are acute (hemorrhagic).
    2. Erosions are chronic single and multiple.
    3. Chronic erosive (lymphocytic) gastritis.
    4. Erosion-hemorrhagic gastritis and duodenitis.
