Diclogen demonstrates powerful anti-inflammatory and analgesic activity. The antipyretic effect of the drug is expressed rather weakly.
The effect of the drug leads to the suppression of proteoglycan binding processes inside the cartilage. This is why it is effective in joint diseases and in periods after injuries or surgeries. The drug eliminates swelling and joint stiffness, and also increases the range of motion.
Long-term use of the drug leads to the appearance of desensitizing activity.
During ophthalmological or ENT procedures it is prescribed to eliminate pain and swelling.

Indications Diclogen
It is used for joint pathologies - gout, Bechterew's disease, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. The drug is used in case of diseases of the musculoskeletal system (post-traumatic, degenerative or chronic nature) - sprains, osteochondrosis, bruises and periarthropathy.
Diclogen demonstrates effectiveness in cases of neuralgia, colic, migraines, adnexitis, proctitis, pain of various origins developing in the area of muscles, joints, ENT system and spine, as well as postoperative pain.
The medication can be prescribed to prevent miosis during ophthalmologic surgeries related to cataracts or macular edema of cystoid nature after removal or implantation of the lens, as well as in case of inflammations arising from trauma (penetrating or not) of the eyes. The medication should be used for ophthalmologic pathologies that are inflammatory in nature and of non-infectious etiology.
Release form
The drug is released in the form of gel, tablets, and parenteral liquid.
Tablets of 50 mg, 10 pieces inside a blister pack. The pack contains 5 such packs. Also tablets with an extended type of action (volume 0.1 g), in the amount of 10 pieces inside a strip. In a box - 1 or 2 such strips.
It is also available as a 1% or 5% gel, in tubes of 20, 30, 50 or 100 g. There is 1 such tube in a pack.
It is also produced as a liquid for parenteral use (volume 25 mg/ml), inside ampoules with a capacity of 3 ml. There are 5 or 10 such ampoules in a box.
Dosing and administration
The tablets should be taken orally - after meals in a dosage of 25-50 mg 2-3 times a day. The duration of therapy is determined by the severity of the disease, as well as the patient's condition. Tablets with a prolonged effect are used 1 piece (0.1 g) 1 time per day, before meals.
Parenteral fluid is administered intramuscularly or intravenously. IV administration is performed through a dropper (the substance from the ampoule is preliminarily dissolved in 5% glucose or saline (0.1-0.5 l), adding 8.4% (0.5 ml) or 4.2% (1 ml) sodium bicarbonate). The duration of such an infusion can be 0.5-3 hours. Diclogen can be used parenterally for a maximum of 2 days.
To prevent postoperative complications, 25-50 mg of the drug should be administered intravenously - 15-60 minutes before the operation. Then the infusion is performed at a rate of 5 mg/hour until the daily maximum (0.15 g) is administered.
To relieve pain, the medicine should be administered intramuscularly, in doses of 25-50 mg, 1-2 times a day.
Children can be given no more than 2 mg/kg of the drug parenterally and orally per day; in the case of juvenile arthritis – no more than 3 mg/kg, and for an adult – a maximum of 0.15 g.
The gel should be applied to the area where the pain is localized. The medicine is applied to washed, dry skin, with gentle massaging movements, 2 times a day. Children aged 6-12 years can use a maximum of 1 g of the substance per day, and teenagers aged 12 years and older - 2 g. If there is no result after 14 days of using the gel, you should consult a doctor.

Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- exacerbation of chronically active ulcerative-erosive diseases of the digestive tract;
- disorders of hematopoiesis;
- "aspirin triad";
- use in individuals with intolerance to the components of the drug or other NSAIDs.
The gel cannot be used to treat damaged areas of the epidermis.
Caution is required when prescribing to people with porphyria, a tendency to bleeding, liver or kidney failure, heart failure and asthma, as well as to the elderly.

Side effects Diclogen
The medicine in the form of a gel can cause contact dermatitis, eczema, generalized epidermal rashes, photophobia and allergies (bronchial spasms, Quincke's edema and urticaria).
In case of parenteral or oral use, anemia, irritability, upset stool and digestion, epidermal itching, hypertension, nausea, headaches and severe fatigue may occur. In addition, alopecia, pancreatitis, dry mouth, aphthous stomatitis and glossitis, as well as memory loss, insomnia, tinnitus, nightmares and dizziness. In addition, pain in the sternum or abdomen, thrombocytopenia or leukopenia, palpitations, agranulocytosis, necrosis of the renal papillae, cystitis, hematuria and tubulointerstitial nephritis may occur.
Rarely, when using the drug, anorexia, acute hepatitis, ulcer or bleeding inside the gastrointestinal tract, proteinuria, liver pathology, diplopia, taste disorder and weakening of vision with hearing may occur. Along with this, it is possible to develop anxiety, arrhythmia, seizures, paresthesia, disorientation, oliguria, depression, allergy and tremor, as well as acute renal failure, aseptic meningitis, nephrotic syndrome, scotoma and erythroderma.
Occasionally, swelling of the extremities, MEE, TEN, bronchial spasms and sexual dysfunction in men are observed.
Interactions with other drugs
The use of the gel together with other local substances that increase the photosensitivity of the epidermis increases the likelihood of photosensitivity.
Tablets and solution of the drug can increase blood levels of digoxin with cyclosporine and lithium drugs when combined with them.
There is an increased likelihood of adverse effects and bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract when combining the drug with other NSAIDs, methotrexate, St. John's wort, GCS, corticotropin, alcoholic beverages and colchicine.
Combination with gold substances, cyclosporine, potassium-sparing diuretics or paracetamol leads to an increase in the toxic activity of Diclogen in relation to the kidneys, as well as the risk of hyperkalemia.
The drug weakens the medicinal properties of diuretics, antihypertensive drugs, sleeping pills and vasodilators.
An increased risk of bleeding is observed when the drug is used in combination with substances that affect blood clotting – thrombolytics or anticoagulants.
The medicinal activity of diclofenac is weakened when combined with aspirin.
Use of the medication together with oral hypoglycemic agents may cause hypo- or hyperglycemia.
The risk of hypoprothrombinemia increases when the drug is combined with valproic acid, cefoperazone, cefotetan, as well as plicamycin or cefamandole.
Application for children
Diclogen is prohibited for use in children under 6 years of age. Extended-release tablets are not prescribed for children under 18 years of age.
