Diagnosis of vulvovaginitis in girls is based on the characteristic symptoms of the disease:

  • discharge from the genital tract:
    • purulent;
    • mixed with blood;
    • purulent-bloody;
    • curdy;
    • creamy.
  • hyperemia and swelling of the vulva;
  • discomfort (pain, burning, etc.);
  • soreness of the vulva;
  • dysuria;
  • itching of the vulva and vagina.

Acute vulvovaginitis in girls occurs with pronounced symptoms, while chronic vulvovaginitis has an erased clinical picture.

There are no specific features of the clinical course of vulvovaginitis in different age groups.
