Indications Detralex.

It is used to eliminate venous lymphatic insufficiency in the legs, which has a functional or organic origin. Its symptoms are pain and swelling, a feeling of heaviness in the legs, cramps and trophic disorders.

The drug can also be used to treat the symptoms of an acute hemorrhoidal attack.

Can be prescribed as part of combination therapy for hemorrhoids or varicose veins:

  • to reduce the severity of venous insufficiency symptoms - in such situations, a venotonic gel or ointment is used along with tablets;
  • in the treatment of hemorrhoids, it is used together with ointments (this list includes Bezornil with Hepatrombin, as well as ichthyol ointment) or rectal suppositories (Proctozan, Relief or Nigepan) to eliminate inflammation and pain, improve vascular tone, reduce the risk of thrombosis, and also stop bleeding.

Release form

The release occurs in tablets, 15 pieces inside a blister plate. The box contains 2 or 4 such plates.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug has a venotonic and angioprotective effect, reduces venous distensibility and venostasis, increases the tone of venous membranes, strengthens the strength of capillaries and improves microcirculation processes together with lymphatic drainage. Increases the resistance of capillary walls to mechanical influences on them.

Detralex helps to reduce the interaction of the endothelium with leukocytes and leukocyte adhesion within postcapillary venules, resulting in a decrease in the severity of the damaging effect of inflammatory conductors on the membranes of the veins and venous valve cusps.

Pharmacokinetics

The half-life of the substance is 11 hours. Excretion of the active ingredients occurs mainly through the intestines. Another approximately 14% of the dose taken is excreted through the kidneys.

Dosing and administration

Using tablets to treat varicose veins.

The recommended dose for the treatment of venous lymphatic insufficiency is 1 g/day – twice daily intake of 1 tablet of 0.5 g. The medicine should be taken before meals – during the day and in the evening.

The medication is prescribed exclusively to adults. To enhance the medicinal effect, the doctor may additionally prescribe a medication with an external method of application - a gel or ointment.

The duration of treatment during varicose veins, as well as the need for a repeated course of therapy, is determined by the attending physician.

Use of Detralex in the process of eliminating hemorrhoids.

For the treatment of acute hemorrhoids, it is necessary to take 6 tablets of the drug per day during the first 4 days of the course, and then, during the next 3 days, take 4 tablets per day. The medication is taken with food, dividing the daily portion into 2-3 uses.

Therapy for chronic hemorrhoids requires daily intake of 4 tablets of the drug. They must be taken before meals, 2 tablets at a time. After 7 days of treatment, the portion size may be halved and the number of doses may be reduced to 1 time/day.

The duration of use of the tablets is determined by the degree of neglect of the pathology, as well as the effectiveness of the treatment. To treat the chronic form of the disease, doctors usually recommend taking the drug in courses lasting 2-3 months. To eliminate the acute form of the disease, short therapeutic courses lasting 1 week are used.

If signs of the disease persist after the specified period, you need to go for an examination by a proctologist.

Reviews

Detralex is considered an excellent remedy for eliminating hemorrhoids. Among its disadvantages, only the high cost of the drug is highlighted, but despite the fact that it is highly effective and acts very quickly (often improvement is noted after 2-3 days of use), many patients prefer to buy it, and not any analogues with a lower cost. The drug shows good results even with advanced hemorrhoids (also developing during pregnancy, during which most drugs are prohibited, and surgery is unacceptable).

Although in general there are quite different reviews of the drug on medical forums, there are also many negative ones. But mostly patients still respond positively to it.

When using the drug to treat varicose veins, its effect develops more slowly, although the effect obtained allows to significantly improve the patient's condition. Based on expert reviews, the drug is highly effective, but at the same time:

  • its effect will be more noticeable if therapy is started early (comments note that if the drug is taken immediately after the first symptoms of the pathology appear, it will disappear without a trace for a long time);
  • the drug effect develops gradually, therefore, if the doctor prescribes taking the medication for a period of 2 months, you should take it for the entire specified period, and then, to maintain the effect obtained, repeat this course 1-2 more times a year;
  • During therapy, it is necessary to use a comprehensive method - to achieve the desired result, you need to remember about diet, adherence to the regime, the absence of physical overload and taking other medications.
