Indications Darvilol

Darvilol is prescribed for mild forms of ischemic heart disease, neurotic disorders that are accompanied by severe irritability, disorders of cardiac function that are accompanied by pain in the heart, in an excited state, the appearance of a feeling of fear, sleep problems, and intestinal spasms.

Release form

Darvilol is available in the form of drops for oral administration. The solution is transparent and has a distinctive ethereal aroma.

Pharmacodynamics

Darvilol is a combination drug, and therefore the therapeutic effect of the drug is determined by the action of the individual components that make up Darvilol.

Phenobarbital and bromisoval have a mild hypnotic effect and a calming effect; the components also reduce excessive excitability of the central nervous system and facilitate the process of falling asleep.

Peppermint oil has a reflex effect and eliminates spasms.

Pharmacokinetics

Phenobarbital, which is part of Darvilol, is absorbed from the digestive system in a short time. Binding to blood proteins occurs on average 30-60%. Distribution of the drug occurs in almost all tissues. The process of metabolization occurs mainly in the liver. About 30% is excreted by the kidneys unchanged.

The half-life ranges from 48 to 144 hours.

Peppermint oil is absorbed in the digestive system in a fairly short time. It is excreted in several ways: through the lungs when exhaling, through the kidneys, and through the gall bladder. The main component of peppermint oil is menthol, which is converted in the liver into a compound with glucoronic acid and excreted by the kidneys.

Bromisoval and ethyl ester begin to be absorbed in the oral cavity and penetrate into the systemic circulation. Isovaleric acid is formed during metabolism.

Dosing and administration

Darvilol, shake well before use. The dosage in each specific case is determined individually. Adult patients are recommended to take 60 drops per day (it is recommended to divide the dose into three doses). Darvilol can be diluted with drinking water or dripped onto a piece of sugar. The drug is taken before meals. In case of rapid heartbeat or compression of the coronary vessels, a specialist can increase the dosage to 150 drops per day (50 drops 3 times a day).

Patients aged six years and over are prescribed 3 to 15 drops per day.
