Cerebrocurin is a psychostimulant with neurometabolic action from the group of nootropic drugs that activates the cognitive functions of the central nervous system. Improves intracellular protein synthesis in nerve cells. It is made from neuropeptides of the embryonic brain of calves. Contains unsubstituted aminocarboxylic acids, peptides and polycondensed products of the controlled process of enzymatic degradation of proteins. The composition of the injection substance in the ampoule includes cerebrocurin, solution natrii chloridi, chinosolum, aqua pro injectionibus.

Indications Cerebrocurin

Neurology and psychiatry:

  • diseases of the central nervous system, accompanied by impaired intelligence and memory, decreased concentration, dizziness;
  • emotional lability;
  • Stroke (ischemic or hemorrhagic type)

Cerebrocurin is included in the treatment regimen for such diseases as:

  • senile dementia caused by atherosclerosis or NMC;
  • Alzheimer's disease;
  • comatose state of traumatic, toxic or vascular origin;
  • in the treatment of alcoholism (relief of withdrawal and delirious syndromes);
  • depression;
  • prolonged fatigue syndrome of vascular origin;
  • psychoasthenic syndrome;
  • myoclonus of various origins;
  • sickle cell anemia;
  • flaccid paralysis;
  • headaches of various types;
  • vegetative-vascular dystonia of various forms;
  • postoperative period of surgical interventions on large vessels of the brain.

Ophthalmology. Cerebrocurin helps to improve visual acuity and the condition of the retina in:

  • macular degeneration (atrophic and exudative);
  • post-detachment chorioretinitis;
  • hyperglycemic conditions with high complicated myopia;
  • metamorphopsia.

Pediatrics:

  • psycho-speech delay (intellectual retardation, alalia of various origins, dyslexia);
  • complications in strokes of various etiologies with motor aphasia;
  • flaccid paralysis;
  • Rett syndrome (Rett syndrome) - severe mental retardation of girls;
  • Fragile X mental retardation syndrome (Martin-Bell syndrome) is a special form of mental retardation;
  • encephalitis;
  • TBI resulting in intellectual disability;
  • permitted for use in the neonatal period of life (moderate and severe forms of asphyxia, as well as fetal hypoxia).

Release form

Transparent straw-colored solution.

Active ingredient: 1 ml of solution contains cerebrocurin in the amount of 2 mg;

Additional ingredients: water for injection, sodium chloride 0.9%, quinosol 0.1%.

Transparent glass ampoules with a ready-made solution for intramuscular injections of 2 ml in the amount of 10 pcs. of 0.5 ml in the amount of 5 pcs. in a cardboard package, inside which there is a plastic contour insert with cells.

Pharmacodynamics

The amino acid modulator Cerebrocurin has a beneficial effect on the CNA (central nervous activity). The main effect is to enhance the energy-generating and protein-synthesizing properties of nerve cells. Cerebrocurin affects mitochondria, increasing their diameter, increasing their area per unit volume and promotes the renewal of glial cells in the brain, to the mosaic damage of which hypoxia leads. Cerebrocurin has a stimulating effect on mental activity and memory.

Neurometabolic and anabolic stimulant. Cerebrocurin reduces the concentration of some lipids, improves the recovery of the nervous system functions. Stimulates mental, physical and social recovery of patients with neurological and psychiatric diagnoses. Promotes stabilization of the neurometabolic effect in genetically determined diseases.

Pharmacokinetics

It is not possible to study the pharmacokinetics, due to the fact that the active neuropeptides included in the drug exist in the form of low-molecular protein compounds, the synthesis of which actively occurs throughout a person’s life, from the moment of birth until death.

Dosing and administration

The medicine is used strictly for intramuscular use.

Adults: for the minimum course, the drug is administered 2 ml daily for a decade (20 ml). If necessary (in case of severe forms of diseases), the course of therapy can be 40 days (80 ml). It is recommended to administer repeated courses twice or three times a year.

Children: the drug can be prescribed - in the neonatal period and up to 6 months - half a milliliter every other day, the course of therapy is 3-5 intramuscular injections; from 6 months to 1 year - half a milliliter every other day, the course of therapy includes 10 injections; from 1 year to 3 years - 1-2 ml every other day, the course of therapy is 10 injections; from 3 years and older - 2 ml every other day, the course of therapy is 10-20 injections.

For children under three years of age, the drug is prescribed exclusively in hospital settings. Pediatricians do not recommend using cerebrocurin at night. Repeated courses of therapy are recommended after 1-3 months.

Ophthalmology: a minimum course of therapy is used, consisting of 10 injections (total volume 20 ml) of 2 ml of the drug.

Use Cerebrocurin during pregnancy

Since the pharmacokinetics cannot be studied in detail, the drug is not recommended for use during pregnancy to avoid negative effects on the fetus.

Contraindications

  • individual hypersensitivity to the drug,
  • increased sensitivity to its components,
  • pregnancy, lactation period,
  • epilepsy, allergic dermatitis,
  • autoimmune conditions,
  • cerebral palsy with severe contractures (third degree),
  • Down syndrome.

Side effects Cerebrocurin

The drug is usually well tolerated. There are cases of individual hypersensitivity to the drug. When prescribing the drug to children with cerebral palsy with symptomatic epilepsy, seizures may become more frequent, headaches may appear, and excessive excitement may increase. Use the drug with caution in patients with seizure readiness or epilepsy, and close observation by a hospital physician is necessary. Does not affect reaction speed when working with mechanisms or driving vehicles.

Overdose

Given the low toxicity of the drug, no cases of overdose have been recorded.

Interactions with other drugs

Interaction with other drugs has not been studied. Drinking alcohol-containing beverages is strictly prohibited during the course of therapy.
