Tincture of calendula has antimicrobial, antiparasitic, wound-healing, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory action. The following indications for use are singled out.

Pharmacodynamics

Pharmacodynamics of calendula tincture is determined by the pharmacological characteristics of the substances that make up the medicinal product:

  1. Essential oils represented by substances such as alpha-cadinol, T-cadinol, fatty acids. This group of substances inhibits both gram-negative and gram-positive pathogenic microflora.
  2. Triterpenoids, which include monools, diols, triols, AF glycosides and a number of other substances, have an anti-inflammatory effect.
  3. Flavonoids, represented by substances such as isokvetsetin, isoramnetin, hyperoside, astragaline, quercetin, glycosides and rutin promote the relaxation of smooth muscles, thereby removing its spasm. Due to them the preparation has anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect.
  4. Carotenoids or vitamin A lower the level of cholesterol in the blood.
  5. Coumarins have an anti-inflammatory effect.
  6. Soluble in water polysaccharides, which include arabinogalactans, ramanoarabinogalactans and a number of other substances, improve the state of the capillary - vascular system.

Dosing and administration

With external or internal admission, depending on the diagnosis, the method of application and dose of the calendula tincture is somewhat different.

A similar regimen is recommended and with gastric pathologies as an effective antispasmodic, wound healing and anti-inflammatory agent.

If a woman has gynecological problems (cervical erosion, colpitis, thrush), douching can be prescribed with the medicine in question. In this situation, a teaspoon of pharmacy tincture calendula is diluted with a glass of warm boiled water. Such procedures effectively relieve the itching in the genital area, relieve inflammation and healing effect on the damaged areas of the skin, mucous membranes. Douching should be done daily.
