Baralgetas is a complex medicine whose therapeutic activity is provided by the properties of its three main components. The medicine has a strong antispasmodic and analgesic effect.
Metamizole Na exhibits analgesic, antipyretic, and also anti-inflammatory (weakly expressed) effects.
The component pitofenone promotes relaxation of smooth muscles in the area of internal organs. [ 1 ]
The element fenpiverinium also exhibits significant antispasmodic activity. [ 2 ]

Indications Baralgetas
It is used for the following disorders:
- pain of varying intensity and nature;
- spasms in the area of the muscles of the internal organs (biliary colic or colic in the area of the intestines /kidneys, as well as spasms affecting the ureter and bladder) or algomenorrhea.
It is prescribed to eliminate symptoms of neuralgia, sciatica, myalgia or arthralgia, as well as to relieve pain that appears after surgery.
Release form
The drug is released in tablets - inside a cell plate, 10 pieces each.
It is also available as a liquid for intramuscular and intravenous injections – inside 5 ml ampoules. There are 5 such ampoules in a pack.
Pharmacokinetics
After intramuscular injection, the drug is absorbed at a high rate. Bioavailability values are approximately 85%. Blood Cmax values are noted after 60 minutes on average.
Metamizole synthesis with blood protein is 50-60%; the substance overcomes the BBB and placenta without complications. The drug undergoes intensive intrahepatic transformation; its metabolic elements have medicinal activity.
Excretion occurs largely through the kidneys, in the form of metabolic components.
Dosing and administration
The ampoules of the drug should be administered intramuscularly - 2-5 ml of liquid, repeating the procedure at 7-8 hour intervals. A maximum of 10 ml of the substance is allowed to be administered per day. The parenteral regimen can last 2-3 days, and then the patient is transferred to taking tablets.
Adults and children over 12 years of age can take 1-2 tablets once. It is recommended to take the drug after meals. A maximum of 3 doses of the drug can be administered per day. Repeated doses are taken with 6-8 hour breaks. A maximum of 6 tablets can be taken per day. Oral administration is often prescribed after therapy using Baralgetas injections.
- Application for children
Not intended for use in persons under 5 years of age.
Use Baralgetas during pregnancy
It is prohibited to administer the medicine during pregnancy.
Contraindications
Main contraindications:
- severe intolerance to the drug;
- blood pathologies;
- CHF or IHD;
- tachycardia;
- diseases affecting the kidneys/liver;
- closed-angle glaucoma;
- prostate adenoma;
- breast-feeding.
Caution is required in the following cases:
- liver/kidney failure;
- severe sensitivity to NSAIDs;
- BA;
- decreased blood pressure values;
- urticaria associated with the use of another NSAID or aspirin.
Side effects Baralgetas
When administered in recommended doses, Baralgetas is often tolerated without complications. Only occasionally do local allergy symptoms (epidermal rashes and itching), headaches, xerostomia, tachycardia, gastric burning, dizziness, hypohidrosis and decreased blood pressure values appear.
In case of overdose or prolonged use, thrombocytopenia or leukopenia, agranulocytosis and fever, as well as sore throat, chills and stomatitis may occur.
Overdose
Intoxication is accompanied by the following symptoms: gastrointestinal disorders (including xerostomia, nausea, stomach pain and vomiting), toxic-allergic symptoms and signs of damage to the hematopoietic organs with the brain. In addition, there is an accommodation disorder, renal dysfunction, drowsiness, decreased blood pressure, convulsions and confusion.
Interactions with other drugs
The administration of the drug together with substances that depress central nervous system activity and alcohol may cause a disorder of psychomotor activity (drowsiness).
The combination of drugs and non-narcotic analgesics mutually potentiates their toxic properties.
Use of the drug simultaneously with chlorpromazine results in intense hyperthermia.
Penicillin, radiocontrast agents and colloidal blood substitutes should not be used during therapy with Baralgetas.
Tranquilizers and sedatives potentiate the analgesic effect of the drug.
The toxic activity of the drug is potentiated when administered in combination with antidepressants and oral contraception.
Phenylbutazone weakens the therapeutic effect of the drug.
Storage conditions
Baralgetas should be stored at temperatures in the range of 8-15°C.
Shelf life
Baralgetas can be used for a period of 24 months from the date of manufacture of the pharmaceutical product.
