Pharmacodynamics

Bicalutamide has antiandrogenic properties and is non-steroidal. The substance has no other endocrine effect.

It is synthesized with androgenic endings and inhibits the stimulatory effect of androgens, while the activation of gene expression does not occur. Thanks to these processes, regression of malignant tumors in the prostate area is developing.

Pharmacokinetics

Excretion of the drug occurs in the form of metabolic products - with urine and bile.

Dosing and administration

For adults, a single oral administration of 50 mg of the drug per day is prescribed in combination with a surgical castration procedure or with an analogue of the LGRF component.

If there are no metastases of prostate carcinoma, for the treatment of a malignant tumor without surgical castration and the use of other medicines, use a single dose of 0.15 g of the substance per day.

The drug must be consumed over a long period (at least 2 years).

If a patient has severe disorders in the liver, a portion size adjustment is required.
