Amplipulse therapy (CMT therapy) is a method of local exposure to variable sinusoidal modulated electric currents of the relevant parameters through electrodes and moist hydrophilic gaskets that are superimposed on certain areas of the skin of the patient's body.

Amplipulse therapy has a current strength of up to 50 mA; the main (carrier) frequency of current oscillations is 2-5 kHz, the modulation frequency is from 10 to 150 Hz.

Types of current modulation:

  • constant modulation (I kind of work) - modulation of the carrier frequency of 5 kHz by one of the frequencies in the range 10-150 Hz;
  • a premise - a pause (II kind of work) - an alternation of a parcel of the sinusoidal current modulated by frequency within 10-150 Hz and pauses; the duration of the current and pause messages can be adjusted discretely within the range of 1 to 5-6 s;
  • sending - carrier frequency (III kind of work) - alternation of the sending of the current modulated by a certain frequency within 10-150 Hz, with parcels of unmodulated carrier current 5 kHz;
  • alternating frequencies (IV kind of work) - alternation of current parcels with different modulation frequencies: in one of the parcels the modulation frequency is selected from the range of 10-150 Hz, in the second - the modulation frequency remains constant - 150 Hz.

Amplipulse therapy can change the depth of modulation from 0 to 100% or more. With a modulation depth of 100%, the amplitude between the series of oscillations reaches zero; at a modulation depth exceeding 100%, the intervals between the series of oscillations with zero amplitude value are expanded.

The effect of the factor is similar in many respects to the method of diadynamic therapy. However, an alternating electric current, in contrast to a constant or half-wave pulse current, causes a much lesser degree of adaptation of the central nervous system to the effect, which contributes to more stable electrodynamic changes in the corresponding structures and systems.

The main clinical effects of amplipulse therapy: neuromyostimulating, analgesic, vasodilating, trophic.

Apparatus for amplipulse therapy: "Amplipulse-4", "Ampliplus-5", "Ampli-pulse-6", "Ampliplus-7", "Ampliplus-8".
