The nasal spray is used for such disorders as seasonal or non-seasonal rhinitis (allergic in nature) and vasomotor rhinitis.

Eye drops are used in the following cases:

  • seasonal form of conjunctivitis of allergic origin;
  • inflammations of various origins affecting the eyes (also post-traumatic);
  • allergic form of conjunctivitis of a year-round nature.

Release form

The drug is released in the form of 0.05% eye drops - inside a bottle equipped with a dropper, with a volume of 6 or 10 ml.

In addition, it is sold in the form of a nasal spray, equipped with a dispenser-atomizer, inside 10 ml bottles.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug selectively blocks the activity of H1-endings.

It has a membrane-stabilizing and antihistamine effect, strengthens the strength of capillaries, and also prevents the release of active elements (leukotrienes, histamine and serotonin) from labrocytes that cause bronchial spasms and allergy symptoms. [ 2 ]

Pharmacokinetics

After nasal administration, the bioavailability of the drug is 40%. Over a period of 2-3 hours, the blood index of the drug reaches Cmax values, which are 8 times lower than the level recorded after experimental oral administration. In people with allergic rhinitis, the Allergodil index exceeds the values observed in a healthy person.

When using eye drops (4 times a day, 1 drop each time), the plasma level of the drug is extremely low.

Dosing and administration

Nasal spray usage patterns.

The spray bottle is equipped with a dispenser-sprayer, which makes its use much easier. Before the first administration procedure, the medicine should be sprayed into the air. It is necessary to spray the required amount of spray into each nostril, while keeping the head straight.

For rhinoconjunctivitis and allergic rhinitis: for children over 6 years of age and adults, use 1 portion (1 spray) in each nostril, in the morning and in the evening. For people over 12 years of age, the dosage can be increased to 2 portions of the medicine 2 times a day. The drug should be used until the signs of the disease disappear. Allergodil can be used for a long time, but in a continuous mode - a maximum of 5-6 months.

For rhinitis of vasomotor nature: for a child over 12 years old and an adult, 2 doses of the drug are required in each nostril 2 times a day. The drug is also used until the manifestations of the pathology disappear. The duration of continuous therapy for this disease can be a maximum of 2 months.

Schemes for the use of eye drops.
