Indications Actipola

It is used during therapy for the following pathologies:

  • keratouveitis or conjunctivitis of viral origin and caused by the activity of adenoviruses herpes simplex and herpeszoster;
  • lesions in the area of the cornea and retina that are dystrophic in nature;
  • keratopathies arising in connection with infections, operations or injuries;
  • burns or injuries affecting the ocular surface;
  • eye fatigue that has a chronic form.

In addition, Aktipol is prescribed to reduce discomfort and speed up the adaptation period in the case of using contact correction drugs.

Release form

The substance is released in the form of a liquid for instillation and injection into the eyes - inside ampoules with a volume of 1 or 2 ml. The box contains 10 or 50 such ampoules.

It can also be sold in the form of eye drops, in 5 ml bottles equipped with a dropper cap. There is 1 such bottle inside the pack.

Pharmacodynamics

The mechanisms of antiviral action are based on the ability of the drug to induce internal interferon. The drug does not cause the development of teratogenic, embryotoxic, or mutagenic effects.

It has radioprotective activity, regulates water-salt levels and stimulates corneal renewal processes.

Pharmacokinetics

The substance PABA is absorbed at a fairly high rate after local application of the drug and has a medicinal effect.

Dosing and administration

Drops of the drug are prescribed for administration into the conjunctival sac through instillations - 3-8 times a day in the amount of 1-2 drops. It can also be administered in the form of subconjunctival or parabulbar injections - in a portion of 0.3-0.5 ml (3-15 injections for the entire treatment cycle).

In case of deep keratitis of herpetic origin, the medication is used daily for some time, and later it is administered 1 time with 2-3-day intervals. After obtaining the desired result, Aktipol is used 3 times a day for another 7 days.

During therapy for superficial keratitis of herpetic origin, the drug is administered via injections once at 2-3-day intervals, combining drops with instillations (4-8 times a day; the frequency depends on the clinical course of the pathology).

Use Actipola during pregnancy

At the moment, there is no clinically proven data regarding the use of Aktipol during lactation or pregnancy. However, the drug is still allowed to be used if the possible benefit from it is more likely than the risk of complications.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated to prescribe the medicine to people with intolerance to its components.

Side effects Actipola

Occasionally, when using the medication, hyperemia or local allergy symptoms may occur.

Interactions with other drugs

Storage conditions

Aktipol must be kept in a dark place at standard temperatures.

Shelf life

Aktipol can be used within 24 months from the date of production of the pharmaceutical product. An opened ampoule has a shelf life of 24 hours.

Application for children

There is no information regarding the possibility of using the drug in pediatrics. The administration of the drug may be allowed only in cases where the benefit from its use is considered more likely than the risk of complications.

Analogues

Analogues of the drug are Oftalmoferon and Poludan with Okoferon.
