Release form

Abrol has several forms of release: a tablet form and in the form of syrups (1 bottle - 15/5 ml, 2 bottles - 30/5 ml).

The difference between these types of Abrola is not only in the form of release, but also in age restrictions, namely:

  • the tablet form is intended for children no younger than 12 years,

Pharmacodynamics

Abrol is a mucosal agent, where the main feature is the expectorant effect.

Its action is directed to the withdrawal and elimination of sputum by activating the activity of serous gland cells located on the mucous membrane of the bronchi, while the mucus and serous sputum enzyme is regenerated. Thanks to a drug such as Abrol, the body recovers the production of components that split the binding of mucopolysaccharides in sputum. The resumption of rheological functions of sputum is carried out under the influence of Abrol on the formation of a surfactant, during which the viscosity of sputum decreases, and its adhesion to the bronchial mucosa decreases. The medication acts as an activating agent on the ciliated epithelium, and as a result, the evacuation function increases. With active movement of cilia, adhesion of the bronchi decreases, which promotes mucociliary stroke.

Abrol has a local anesthetic and a weak antitussive effect. In addition, the effect on the metabolism of arachidonic acid, the oxidation in the area of inflammation is free. And it also enhances the effect of antibacterial drugs.

Pharmacokinetics

Abrol is rapidly excreted from the digestive system. With max it appears in the blood after 1 to 3 hours. The agent appears in the associated position with albumin almost 90%. Metabolism is carried out in the liver, during which glucuronization occurs metabolite. CYP3A4 exerts control over the metabolism of Abrol to dibromantranilic acid. The elimination half-life ranges from 10 to 12 hours. The free form of the drug reaches 6%, 26% is the amount of form of conjugates in the urine. In the case of HNP, the concentration of Abrol increases, which causes the growth of its content in the blood plasma in 3 or even more times. Abrol is excreted in the urine, partly with feces.

Interactions with other drugs

Naturally, the doctor who prescribes complex treatment, selects medicines in accordance with their therapeutic functions, chemical characteristics. Namely:

  • Abrol strengthens the secretion of the bronchial system:
    • erythromycin,
    • cefuroxime,
    • amoxicillin.
  • Abrol is absolutely not combined with other means designed to eliminate cough, as the functioning of mucociliary transport in an environment where the production of mucus is significantly increased, which causes stagnation inside the pulmonary tree, is destroyed.

Storage conditions

The tableted form and syrup possesses the standard storage conditions:

  • dry place,
  • absence of light,
  • the air temperature should not exceed 25 ° C.

Abrol should be hidden from children's hands.

The preparation itself should be stored in its original packaging with the attached instructions as follows:

  • on the package the date of manufacture and the period of storage of the preparation are indicated,
  • in the case of the loss of instructions, the methods of application of Abrola will have to be learned in other ways (for example, on the Internet),
  • on tableted forms, more precisely on the plate itself, the inscriptions become less prominent with time, and sometimes it is impossible to determine the name of the drug.

Shelf life

Abrol with proper storage is suitable for 2 years. In the case of opening the bottle (if the form of the release is a syrup), the shelf life of the drug is reduced to 28 days, as the bubble no longer possesses the necessary tightness when closing, as a result of which the active components of the drug lose their therapeutic properties. From which it follows that at the end of 28 days the use of Abrola does not make sense. If the medication is overdue, then it should be discarded.
