Changes in the expectant mother
- Are you starting to lose your balance?
Due to the increase in your belly and the shift in your center of gravity, you will feel like you are unsteady on your feet. Try to avoid situations with an increased risk of falling, wear flat shoes to reduce the risk of falling and injury.
- You may also notice increased dryness of the eyes.
If you experience discomfort, use lubricating eye drops and try not to wear contact lenses all the time.
An easy way to track your nutrient intake "I make a simple food chart and put it on the fridge and at the end of the day I mark off what I've eaten all day. Then for my evening snack I choose something that will complement one of the categories, like a yogurt if I need dairy or an orange if I need fruit" - Anonymous
- Dreams during pregnancy
Many women report that they dream very often during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. This is due to shallower superficial sleep, frequent toilet visits, lower back pain, heartburn, leg cramps, and an awkward sleeping position. Frequent awakenings during REM sleep help to remember dreams better.
This may also be partly explained by excessive emotionality during pregnancy.
Patricia Garfield, a clinical psychologist and author of the book “Female Bodies, Female Dreams,” offers an interpretation of the most common dreams.
- Puppies and kittens. During the second trimester, many pregnant women dream of baby animals: from kittens and puppies to chicks. This is how instincts manifest themselves.
- Sexual desire. Many pregnant women dream of sexual contacts. This is due to their increased libido in reality, as well as the confidence and support of their partner.
- Partner's betrayal. If you dream of your loved one's betrayal, it may be caused by unreliability of his behavior and lack of love and attention from him. Now, a lot depends on the goodwill and support around, especially from your partner. Fear of losing him is a common emotional reaction during pregnancy.
This week's activity: Start making a list of baby names. Make a list of ten names and have your partner do the same. Then, take turns discussing the options and crossing out the ones that one of you doesn't like. Some couples make up their own rules: for example, no ex-wives/husbands' names.
