Almost everyone understands that a woman's body changes a lot during pregnancy. A woman's feelings about her growing body are very complex. Almost every pregnant woman feels repulsive at times. You can experience many different feelings about the changes that are happening to your body. This is normal. But it is a fact - most likely, a woman will gain weight during these months, especially if she has been carefully monitoring her weight before. But there are certain actions that will help the expectant mother not to worry about her appearance.

TELL HER SHE IS BEAUTIFUL. It is important for a man to tell his wife that he finds her beautiful even in pregnancy. She needs to know that she is attractive to her husband; many men find the fullness of a pregnant woman attractive. The "glow" of pregnancy, which may be partly due to happiness, excitement, and the anticipation of the birth of the child, often adds to a woman's beauty. If all of this is not entirely true for a man, a little white lie can help his wife feel less anxious about the changes happening to her.

FOCUS ON GOOD HEALTH. A man should talk to his wife about a healthy baby. He should reassure her that gaining some weight is important to ensure the baby's health and help her differentiate between "pregnant" and "fat."

A WOMAN SHOULD BE PAMPLED. A man should offer to do his wife's hair or give her a manicure and pedicure. If a man finds it inconvenient to buy maternity clothes, he can buy her flowers, a CD, jewelry, or send her a touching card. He should make his wife feel special.

DON'T COMPARE A WOMAN TO SOMEONE ELSE. MANY PEOPLE don't like being compared to someone else; this is especially true for pregnant women. A woman's pregnancy is unique to her. So don't comment on her friends' pregnancies or compare your wife's appearance to how she looked before she was pregnant.

A MAN SHOULD ENCOURAGE A WOMAN TO TALK TO HIM. A man should let his wife know that he is always willing to listen to her opinion about his changing body. He needs to reassure her that these feelings are normal.

UNDERSTANDING FEELINGS PLAYS A ROLE. It is important to remember that during this period of time a woman can be very emotional, so you need to be prepared for the fact that she may react in an unexpected way to comments or suggestions about her appearance.

A man should offer his support to his wife

There are many ways a man can offer support to his pregnant wife. He should be there to help her cope with issues, from discomfort to her perception of her changing body. Let her know how important she and your growing baby are to you, and help her whenever you can, doing the work that will make her life easier and keep her safe.

A man should help his wife with housework When a man comes home, he relaxes and leaves the housework to his wife? It's time to take on some of it to help. A man's help will allow the expectant mother to rest more and prevent dangerous situations that can tire her out or cause stress.

Any household chores a man does to reduce his wife's stress and fatigue help him: when the expectant mother feels happy and healthy, he feels good too. A man should offer his help and ask what his wife would like from him. One should be sensitive to the fact that she may want to control this part of her life. Below is a list of things a man can take on.

Cleaning with a vacuum cleaner. Sometimes having to move the vacuum cleaner around the house can be tiring.

Cleaning the bathroom, including the bathtub. Some of the cleaning products can have an adverse effect on a woman. Having to bend over to reach the bottom of the bathtub can cause back pain, and this is also quite unpleasant.

Emptying the dishwasher: Having to bend over and lift heavy pans and dishes can be a nuisance.

Help with laundry. A man can carry full laundry baskets up the stairs. If the couple hangs clothes out in the yard to dry, a man can carry the wet clothes to the clotheslines.

When the laundry basket is full, he should offer to take it to the place where she wants to sort it. If the couple is washing clothes in the washing machine, the man can help his wife put the dirty clothes in the machine and the wet clothes in the dryer. Dry clothes should be taken out together.

Any work that requires heavy lifting. A man must take out the trash.

Climbing for rarely used dishes lying on the top shelves, changing light bulbs - this is what a man should take care of.

You should buy detergents that are safe for pregnant women. Some detergents have a strong smell that can make the expectant mother feel unwell, and many of them are generally unsafe. When reading the instructions, special attention should be paid to the toxicity of the substance.

A man should take on tasks that require standing for a long time, such as ironing and washing dishes. If a man does not want to iron, you can take the clothes to the laundry or hire someone to do this work.

Buying food and other necessary things when the woman is too tired to do it. The spouses can make a list of what needs to be bought together, then the man can go to the store.

Run errands when the husband wants his wife to rest. Plan trips to the dry cleaner, gas, drugstore, and other stores.

Share cooking with your spouse, especially if she is nauseous and vomiting. Some women are sickened by the smell of cooking food, and cooking is the last thing they want to do.

A man needs to make sure that his wife's car works well, check the tire pressure, oil, water and other fluid levels, fill it up and wash it.

Ensuring safety at home and around

There are many things a man can do to ensure the safety of the expectant mother. Crowbar safety is one way a man can ensure that his growing child is safe. The next step he should take is to help his wife avoid accidents and exposure to harmful substances. All it takes is a little planning and forethought.

Clean the cat's litter box. Even if the cat is a woman's and the man doesn't like it, he should clean the litter box so that the expectant mother can avoid toxoplasmosis. Toxoplasmosis is a disease spread by infected cats or their feces. A woman can catch the disease from the litter box, from surfaces the cat walks on, or from the cat itself when she pets it. A man should not allow the cat to walk on tables, suggest that his wife wash her hands every time she touches the cat, and advise her not to cuddle or kiss it.

You can also become infected by eating raw meat, drinking unboiled goat's milk, eating raw eggs, or eating food that has come into contact with insects. To prevent infection, always cook food until fully cooked and avoid eating food that insects may have walked on. Infection of the expectant mother can lead to miscarriage or infection of the child at birth.

Helping a woman avoid contact with sick people. It is important for a pregnant woman to avoid contracting various diseases whenever possible. These include chickenpox, measles, and mumps if she has not had them before. Fifth disease (erythema infectiosum), also called parvovirus 19, hepatitis, gastrointestinal diseases, and Lyme disease should be of particular concern. Situations in which the woman may be infected should be avoided. If a man has become aware of cases of fifth disease (most likely in kindergartens and schools), he should advise his wife to be careful and avoid the possibility of infection. Clean and sanitary inspected places should be chosen for eating. It is not advisable to go for walks in places where there are many encephalitis ticks.

MAINTAINING BODY TEMPERATURE. A woman's body temperature that is elevated for a long time can be harmful to her growing baby. For this reason, a pregnant woman should avoid places that can cause an increase in temperature, such as taking hot baths, going to a sauna, or taking a jacuzzi. She should also avoid going to a bathhouse.

In addition, the safety of using electric blankets during pregnancy is debatable. Until more is known, heat should be retained through other methods, such as turning off the air conditioner or adding another blanket. Or cuddling up to keep warm. Electric blankets or mattresses should not be used.

Some information about poisons in the environment

Spouses should avoid exposing the woman and, consequently, the unborn child to environmental toxins. The environment is also heavily polluted with other hazardous substances that can harm the fetus, including lead, mercury, and pesticides.

Lead is quickly transported to the baby through the placenta; poisoning can occur as early as 12 weeks. Exposure to lead increases the risk of miscarriage.

Lead can be found in water pipes, batteries, some building materials, paints, including hair and fabric dyes, and wood preservatives. A man should try to ensure that his wife is not exposed to lead by not having these items in the home.

Mercury exposure can occur through eating poisoned fish; there was one case of poisoning from mercury-containing grain. Mercury poisoning of expectant mothers has been linked to fetal abnormalities such as cerebral palsy and microcephaly. A man should ensure that any fish eaten by the couple is not poisoned and try to consume no more than 340 g of fish per week.

Pesticide poisoning is quite common due to their widespread use to control the growth of unwanted plants; the most commonly used are DDT, chlordane, heptachlor, and lindane. Exposure to pesticides during pregnancy can increase the risk of miscarriage and abnormal fetal growth. Pesticides should not be used in the home to prevent the expectant mother from being exposed to them.

A man may not be able to eliminate all contact with pesticides. To protect his wife and himself, he should avoid all possible contact with them. Fruits and vegetables should be washed thoroughly before eating. If a man knows that he has come into contact with these substances, he should wash his hands. A man should not allow his wife to come into contact with any of the substances described above, and he should try to prevent her from coming into contact with them at all times.

A man can also bring these substances home on his work clothes. Care should be taken to ensure that this does not harm the expectant mother.

Home Security Tips

Below is a list of things a man can do to ensure safety in his home. These ideas are fairly simple to implement and won't take much time or money. But they are valuable in that they can prevent an accident.

A special mat or cover should be placed on the bottom of the bath or shower stall to prevent slipping or falling. This becomes more important as the pregnancy progresses, as the pregnant woman's center of gravity will shift and she may lose her balance.

  • A man should make sure that there is a non-slip mat on the bathroom floor. If necessary, it should be replaced.
  • To avoid having to go to the toilet at night in the dark, a woman should use night lights or leave the lights on.
  • It is important to ensure that the usual places and paths where the woman walks are well lit.
  • After a snowfall, a man should clear the paths and yard of snow so that it is easier for his wife to walk on them. The accumulation of ice should be avoided so that the pregnant woman does not slip and fall.
  • You should throw away all detergents that contain toxic substances and buy environmentally friendly products for use during pregnancy.
  • If a man wants to paint a child's room before the baby is born, he should do it himself. A pregnant woman should not inhale the smell of paint. To ventilate the room while the man paints it, a window should be opened.
  • It is necessary to make sure that the fish that the spouses eat is not poisoned.
  • Fruits and vegetables should be washed thoroughly before eating to remove pesticides and other harmful substances.
  • After each visit to the toilet, after touching raw meat or poultry, and after contact with animals, you should wash your hands thoroughly.
  • The man should check all electrical devices to make sure they work and the cords are in good condition.
  • A man should ask his wife to follow the instructions for using the microwave oven to keep herself safe during pregnancy.

Using seat belts during pregnancy

  • Should a woman use seat belts during pregnancy? Yes! These devices are just as necessary during pregnancy as before or after.
  • To protect herself and the unborn child, a woman should always fasten her seat belts while riding! There have never been any cases where wearing seat belts has increased the chance of injury to the fetus or the uterus. In the event of an accident, both the woman and the child have a better chance of survival if the expectant mother fastens her seat belts.
  • There is a proper way to use a seat belt during pregnancy. The woman should place the bottom belt under her belly and across her upper thighs so that it is pressing but comfortable. She should then sit so that the top belt goes over her shoulder without cutting into her neck. It should be positioned between her breasts, not slipping off her shoulder. The bottom belt alone will not keep her safe, especially during pregnancy.
