How much should you walk with your child and what to do on a walk?

If you combine a walk with sleep, then there will be no differences from what has already been described earlier. You dress the child according to the weather, remembering that in the cold season, he should have as many layers of clothing as you have plus one. You put the child in the stroller and go with him to a place where the roar of cars and their exhaust gases will not disturb his sleep. In this case, you only need to monitor the child's nose: if it is warm - everything is fine, if it is cold - the child is cold - go home immediately!

If you are walking with your child without a stroller, that is, he does not sleep during the walk, it is better to do this before the second nap (with a double nap schedule) and after it, or before the nap and after it (with a single nap schedule). In summer, when it is warm outside, the child should be dressed so that he is not hot, the head should be covered with a sun hat (prevention of sunstroke). On the other hand, if the weather is sunny but windy, the child should be dressed so that he does not freeze. The fact is that the thermoregulation system (maintaining a constant body temperature) of small children is still imperfect. Therefore, they easily overheat (risk of heatstroke) and just as easily become hypothermic. In winter, early spring and late autumn (that is, in the cold season), the child should be dressed according to the weather. Usually it is a T-shirt, tights, shirt, sweater, one or even two warm pants (depending on the weather), a warm coat, fur coat or overalls, a warm hat and a scarf. Mittens should be put on the hands, and warm socks (preferably woolen) on the feet. Boots are desirable as footwear (winter ones - with fur), and when there is a lot of snow, it is better to wear felt boots. The top of the felt boots should not reach the popliteal fossa, otherwise it will "cut" the child's legs. When buying shoes for your baby, try them on by weight. Very often, children's reluctance to go outside is due to the fact that their shoes are too heavy. And since not all children walk well at one and a half years old, heavy shoes make this procedure even more difficult. And so it begins: as soon as the child gets dressed, he bursts into tears. But even "skilled walkers" in such equipment (meaning winter clothes) can find it hard to walk for a long time. Therefore, do not be lazy to take a stroller or sled with you. Let the child "move" a little, and when he gets tired, you can take him for a ride in private transport.

When walking with a child, do not try to hold his hand all the time. It is uncomfortable for the child, and he pulls his hand away, wanting to walk on his own. If for some reason you do not want to let go of the baby, it is better to lead the child on special reins, discreetly guiding his movement and at the same time not restricting his movements. But in no case do not hold the child by the ends of the scarf!

In summer, children happily spend a long time playing in the sand: pouring it from one mold to another, digging with a shovel or scoop. You just need to make sure that the child does not eat too much sand.

In summer, you need to give your child the opportunity to splash around in the water. To do this, you can take out a basin or pool of water and put it in the sun. You can put several floating toys in them - fish, ducks, boats, etc. It is not scary if the child splashes himself a little during this game - it is warm outside.

When walking with a child, you need to draw his attention to new objects, plants and animals. This is especially true for city dwellers. Sometimes you need to take the child to a place where he can see something new: cows, goats, poultry, vegetables growing in the garden. This will broaden his horizons and help him learn about the world around him.

During a walk in bad weather, you need to show your child the puddles that form during the rain and try to explain to him where this water comes from. If it is snowing, then show him individual snowflakes - for example, how they melt in the palm of your hand.

When walking with a child, you need to draw his attention to the surrounding animal world: "There goes a bird. It flaps its wings and that's why it can fly." "And there's an ant crawling on the ground. It's dragging a stick to build itself a house." At the same time, you need to form a caring attitude in the child towards various bugs and spiders, explaining that they are all alive and that you can't take their lives.

When introducing a child to plants, you need to tell him what color a particular flower is, why plants have leaves, why the color of leaves changes from green to yellow in the fall (naturally, without delving into the biological jungle, discussing chlorophyll and chromophyll).
