Young couples who are expecting their first child want to determine the sex of their child the most. Couples who have had either boys or girls several times in a row want to know the sex of their future child even more. Whether it is worth determining the sex of the future child is another question, because some couples believe that “whoever is born, it is blood – we will love both our son and daughter.” And yet, for curious parents, we will present several ways to determine the sex of the baby.

Determining the sex of the child by ultrasound

This can be done if you want to know who you are having – a boy or a girl. But not in the early stages of pregnancy, as mistakes are possible. In addition, the boy can cross his legs, and the ultrasound will not show his gender. A boy baby will be easily confused with a girl. Therefore, it is better to do an ultrasound in the 24th week of pregnancy. There is no point in doing an ultrasound earlier. And the sex of the child is even more clearly visible later – around the thirtieth week of the mother’s pregnancy.

Determining the sex of a child using chorionic villus sampling

Another medical method for determining the sex of a child, especially at an early stage, is a chorion biopsy. With this method, placental tissue is captured with a thin needle and the sex of the child is determined. This method can even determine fetal defects, which allows an abortion to be performed in the earliest weeks of pregnancy if the mother does not want to give birth to a child with major health problems.

Chorionic villus sampling is performed between 8 and 12 weeks if samples are taken from the vagina, and between 9 and 11 weeks if placental tissue is taken from the peritoneum.

This method may be unsafe for the future child, because it slightly increases the risk of miscarriage. But it is used in cases where there is a suspicion of Down's syndrome or other possible deviations in the child's health. The biopsy is performed under the control of an ultrasound machine.

Folk omens for determining the sex of a child

There are folk signs by which, in the past, when they had no idea about ultrasound, our great-great-grandmothers accurately determined the sex of the child.

If the expectant mother's waist is clearly visible from the back at a very late stage, it means it will be a boy.

In the later stages, boys in their mother's womb behave much more actively than girls, staging a real revolution.

Moms who are expecting a girl have toxicosis much more often than those who are expecting a boy. There is also a popular belief that a girl "drinks beauty from her mother's face." Then the woman gets acne, pigment spots, and pimples.

People used to determine who would be born based on the diet of the expectant mother. If she was drawn to sweets, they said that a girl would be born, and if to meat, a boy.

The greater the difference between a man and a woman, and the woman is younger than her husband, the greater the likelihood that a son will be born.

They say that a mother and father who are already 30 years old are more likely to have a daughter rather than a son.

How to determine the sex of the child is up to you. But it is worth knowing that even a highly accurate ultrasound can make mistakes. Therefore, do not be upset in case of a mistake, but simply give your child love and tenderness.

Other, non-scientific methods of determining the sex of a child

Safe methods for determining the sex of the unborn child are also called folk methods. They are not as accurate as a biopsy or ultrasound, but they are free and completely safe, so they are very common. The most popular of them are determining the sex of the child by the blood type of the parents, by the date of conception, by the Chinese calendar, by the renewal of the blood of the father and mother, as well as by folk signs. Let's consider some of them in more detail.

How to determine the sex of a child by the date of conception?

The sex of the child, according to popular belief, depends on the sperm, which is the carrier of a certain chromosome. The egg has no sex when it merges with the sperm, everything depends on the chromosome (or chromosomes) in its composition. An X chromosome in the sperm results in a girl, and an XY chromosome guarantees a son.

When a woman ovulates, the egg is ready for fertilization and leaves the ovary, the man's sperm catches up with it and then everything depends on the chromosomes in its composition. Nature has provided that carriers of "male" chromosomes are faster than carriers of X chromosomes (when a girl is born). But sperm with "male" chromosomes live in the female genital tract much less than carriers of "female" chromosomes. Therefore, it is worth planning for a boy in the first days of ovulation, and a girl - later.

You can accurately calculate the day of ovulation using a special test (the same as for determining pregnancy, only the strips will differ in chemical composition), using a calendar, using basal temperature (it reaches its peak on the day of ovulation), and also using an ultrasound.

Method of determining the sex of the baby by the renewal of the blood of the mother and father

This method is considered to be a very reliable method. According to some scientific data, the blood of men and women is renewed once every few years. The calendar of these renewals can be used to calculate the sex of the future child. Women's blood is renewed once every 3 years, and men's - once every 4 years. Blood renewal in men and women can occur earlier - for example, after donating blood or after an injury with a large loss of blood or soon after childbirth. To calculate the data, you need to divide the mother's age by 3, and the father's age by 4. The one whose blood is renewed earlier (the indicator is lower), that is the sex of the child. If the mother's blood is renewed earlier, it will be a girl, and if the father's - a boy.

Method of determining the sex of a child by the blood group of the parents

If the mother and father have the first or second blood group, then the child will be born with the first or second group. Most often, it will be a girl. Parents with the third blood group most often have a boy. As well as parents with the fourth blood group. When mixing blood groups, you can calculate the sex of the child using this table.

Blood group Dad
Mother 1 2 3 4
1 Girl Boy Girl Boy
2 Boy Girl Boy Girl
3 Girl Boy Boy Boy
4 Boy Girl Boy Boy
