Of these, the most popular in cosmetology are vitamins A, C, E and PP, which you can easily check on your first visit to a cosmetics store. Vitamin A softens the skin, vitamin C relieves redness and irritation of the skin, and also stimulates collagen production, vitamin PP protects the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation, and vitamin E is known for its antioxidant properties. When applied externally, the latter reduces the visibility of scars, helps reduce the number of free radicals, which cause wrinkles. However, for the sake of objectivity, it is worth noting that the vitamins contained in cottage cheese give a full positive effect only if, in addition to external application of the vitamin-containing product, you also take useful substances internally.
Cottage cheese also contains minerals such as calcium and magnesium that are essential for healthy skin.
Thanks to the composition of this fermented milk product, a cottage cheese mask is a very useful cosmetic product, the recipe of which should be taken into account by every representative of the fair sex.
Cottage cheese face mask
Before moving directly to the well-known recipes for variations of cottage cheese face masks, I would like to dwell on some important recommendations for their preparation and use.
- The best cottage cheese for cosmetic purposes is cottage cheese made by hand or bought at the market, as they say, "homemade". We recommend buying from a "trusted" seller, and if there is none, choose the product carefully. Pay attention to the color of the cottage cheese: it should be uniform, white or have a light cream shade. If the cottage cheese is gray, with a blue tint, or if pink veins are visible in it, pass by: it is spoiled. Do not be shy about asking to try the product: a slight sourness indicates freshness, pronounced acidity or sweetness - that the cottage cheese has been lying on the counter for a while. Fresh cottage cheese smells of a delicate creamy sourness, but in no case sharply.
- In addition, when buying cottage cheese, pay attention to its fat content. You need to be guided by the principle: the oilier the skin, the lower the fat content of the cottage cheese. For dry skin - fatty cottage cheese, for oily - low-fat, and for normal, respectively - semi-fat.
- If the experience of preparing and using a homemade mask from cottage cheese is new to you, it is better to first test the product or the ready-made mixture on the skin of your wrist, excluding an allergic reaction.
- The mixture must be prepared immediately before use.
- Before application, remove makeup and dust.
- You need to apply the cottage cheese mask like any other, moving from the bridge of the nose to the temples, from the upper lip to the earlobes, from the chin to the temples.
- Once the mask is applied, you need to time it, lie down on the bed or sofa. It is better to remove the pillow and put a cushion under your feet - this will improve the blood flow. You have 15-20 minutes that belong only to you: try to relax and think about something good.
- After removing the curd mask by washing with water of contrasting temperatures, massage your face. Apply a cream suitable for your skin type.
There are no contraindications for cottage cheese face masks. The only thing to consider is your skin type: you need to choose ingredients based on the tasks the mask should solve.
Cottage cheese mask for acne
Each of us at least once in our lives had to deal with the problem of acne on the face. Some were luckier, and acne remained only in the memories of youth with its raging hormones. But there are those for whom they continue to ruin their lives, appearing "according to Murphy's law" before important events in life, when you need to appear before the world in all your glory. What to do in such a case? Of course, enter into a decisive fight.
There are many methods of treating acne. If they are caused by temporary factors, are shallow and localized, you can get rid of them by preparing a mask at home. One of the effective folk remedies is a mask made of cottage cheese.
When it's spring outside, fresh sorrel is available for sale, you can prepare the following recipe. Mix a tablespoon of cottage cheese (hereinafter referred to as tbsp) with chopped sorrel, add egg white and honey - one teaspoon (hereinafter referred to as tsp). It should be kept on the face for 15-20 minutes, then washed off with water.
There is another variation of a cottage cheese mask for acne. You will need: tbsp. low-fat cottage cheese and tsp. lemon juice. Apply the mixture to the skin in a thick layer. Wash off after 15-20 minutes with warm clean water.
Cottage cheese and honey face mask
The miraculous effect of honey on the skin has been known for a long time. Its beneficial properties include:
- Moisturizing: The fruit sugars in honey bind and retain fluid.
- Antiseptic effect.
- Softening the skin.
Beauty recipes that include honey help restore youth and elasticity to the skin, giving it a healthy and well-groomed appearance.
Probably every woman knows the legend about the honey-milk baths of the ancient Egyptian ruler Cleopatra. Of course, it is difficult to imagine a modern representative of the weaker sex regularly bathing in milk and honey. But taking note of the cosmetology techniques known to mankind since ancient times and adapting them to current living conditions is quite possible.
For example, you can prepare the following home remedies for aging skin care:
- Mask of cottage cheese and honey. To prepare it, you will need a tablespoon of cottage cheese, 2 tablespoons of warm milk, a teaspoon of honey and lemon juice. Mix them and apply to the face.
- A mask of cottage cheese, honey and strawberry puree. They also need to be thoroughly mixed in the following ratio: one tablespoon of milk and honey per teaspoon of strawberry puree. Then add half a spoon of olive oil and you can apply it to your face.
Both types of cottage cheese masks should be kept on the face for no more than 20 minutes, and then washed off with water using the contrast washing method.
Such masks have contraindications if you are allergic to honey (or strawberries). You can check the possibility of an allergic reaction by applying a little mask to your wrist and waiting 20 minutes.
Mask of sour cream and cottage cheese
Due to its composition, sour cream has a healing effect on the condition of our skin. It saves from unpleasant sensations during sunburn, softens, moisturizes and whitens the skin.

You can alternate the listed masks, using them once a week, or use the recipe that best suits your skin type.
Mask with cottage cheese and egg
The beneficial properties of eggs for facial skin and hair have been known for a long time. Folk remedies may include either a whole egg or the white or yolk separately. The white has a drying effect and perfectly tightens pores, and the yolk nourishes and moisturizes the skin. In addition to chicken eggs, quail eggs can also be used in home cosmetology.
For dry skin prone to peeling, a mask made from the following ingredients is suitable: cottage cheese (1 tbsp), vegetable oil (2 tsp), one egg. For cosmetic purposes, it is better to use unrefined sunflower oil: it moisturizes dry skin, has softening and regenerating properties and smoothes out fine wrinkles.
A mask made from cottage cheese (2 tbsp.) and the following ingredients is suitable for any skin type: 2 yolks, 1 tbsp. cold-pressed olive oil, 1 tsp. cognac. Grind the cottage cheese and mix with the remaining ingredients. Then apply the mask to the skin of the face, neck and décolleté. Hold for 10 minutes, then apply the mask under the eyes, leave everything for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water. If you have some of the mixture left after the procedure, put it closed in the refrigerator. Repeat the manipulations the next day. The mask can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. In order for the effect of the procedure to be noticeable, you need to repeat it for five days - the skin will smooth out, become softer, and the number of fine wrinkles will decrease.
Hair mask made from cottage cheese
Much has been said above about the benefits of cottage cheese for the skin - it is fair to note that this fermented milk product, due to its composition, is also great for hair care.
There are many recipes for hair masks made from cottage cheese. Below we will list the most famous of them, which are easy to prepare at home.
One of the most popular recipes, called "Queen Cleopatra's mask" on the Internet, is a mixture of low-fat cottage cheese and fruit puree. Fruit puree can be made using a blender from the fruits you have on hand, remembering to check if you are allergic to them. For dry hair, the following are suitable: avocado, apricot, melon, tangerine; for oily hair: pear, red currant, raspberry, and for normal hair - orange, grapes, kiwi and peach. A modern version of this mask also involves the addition of collagen, which can be bought at a pharmacy. One gram of the substance costs an average of 5 hryvnia; to prepare the mask, you need 1-5 grams - depending on the length. The mask is prepared as follows: low-fat cottage cheese (2 tbsp), fruit puree (1 tbsp) and collagen are thoroughly mixed. Then the resulting mass should be rubbed into the scalp with circular movements, massaging the roots, the rest should be distributed along the entire length of the hair. This cottage cheese mask should be kept for 20 minutes, after which it should be washed off with warm water using shampoo.
If your hair has lost its shine and needs urgent strengthening, use a mask of cottage cheese (3 tbsp) and cocoa powder (2 tsp). Mix them together, adding a little warm water. Apply the resulting mass to your hair and leave it on for an hour. To increase the effectiveness of the procedure, wrap your hair in a warm towel. It is recommended to wash it off with warm purified water and shampoo.
A moisturizing hair mask can be made from cottage cheese and milk. First, you need to warm up 100 ml of milk a little, then mix it with 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese. Apply the mixture to your hair and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse with warm purified water.
A mask of cottage cheese (3 tbsp), honey and olive oil (the same amount) will help get rid of dry hair: they need to be thoroughly mixed, applied to the roots, and then along the entire length of the hair. There is no need to cover your head. After waiting half an hour, rinse with water using shampoo.
As a rule, the result after such procedures does not take long to wait. If it is not particularly noticeable, do not be upset. Try to repeat the manipulations during the next hair wash. Remember, homemade masks are most effective when used regularly.
Cottage cheese mask for eyelids
Since the skin of the eyelids is very sensitive and delicate, you need to be careful with masks. Therefore, the mask is applied through gauze. It is recommended to wash off with a decoction of herbs: pharmacy chamomile or parsley, a decoction of linden blossom will also do. It is better to wipe the skin with a napkin, with light movements. The ingredients included in the composition of cottage cheese masks for eyelids should be fresh, and the masks themselves - prepared immediately before application.
Let's take a look at some simple recipes:
- Cottage cheese mask for dark circles under the eyes: simply hold cottage cheese wrapped in gauze on your eyes for 10 minutes. Then wipe the skin with an ice cube. It is recommended to repeat the procedure at least 2 times a week. This will improve blood circulation in small vessels and restore the natural color of the skin around the eyes.
- Honey and curd mask. 3 tsp. are ground with a spoon of honey until creamy. Carefully cover the area around the eyes, leave the mixture for 15 minutes. Gently cleanse the skin with a cotton pad, previously soaked in cold milk.
- Rowan mask made from cottage cheese. Grind a tablespoon of berries to a pulp, mix with a spoon of grated cottage cheese, egg yolk and honey. When the mass becomes homogeneous, wrap it in a piece of gauze and apply to the eyes. The mask should be left on for 15-20 minutes.
Regular use of such cottage cheese masks will activate blood circulation and restore elasticity to the skin around the eyes.
Reviews of cottage cheese masks
For those who still doubt whether it is worth trying such a natural beauty product as a cottage cheese mask, and how much more effective it is than its factory “brothers”, we will provide reviews.
"Unfortunately, many girls, instead of affordable products, prefer to use ready-made cosmetics, which are stuffed with almost the entire periodic table and are very harmful to health. Personally, I have been using cottage cheese masks according to folk recipes for a long time. Everything is natural and very effective. When preparing, I add olive oil, it has many valuable substances. I advise everyone to use what nature gives!"
"Yes, the conditions for making a mask are not always created at home. Firstly, you need to find free time for this, and also prepare the products in advance, otherwise, as usual, at the very last moment, something will be missing. It is easier to buy a ready-made mask in the store. At least in reserve."
"Since childhood, I have watched my mother with interest as she applied every berry and various fruits, vegetables, greens, honey and cottage cheese to the skin of her face, neck and décolleté. I make rejuvenating masks from cottage cheese myself with pleasure, there is nothing better! It does not take much time, and the effect is amazing. I do it at least once a week."
“I started dyeing my hair at a very early age. I did it at home with ammonia dyes for a long time. My hair turned into, excuse me, “tow”. In the photo from my school graduation, I have a tightly pulled braid, because it was impossible to make anything beautiful out of it. Then I cut my hair short and stopped dyeing my hair (only toning, nothing more), and promised myself that I would never allow my hair to get into such a state. Once or twice a week for almost six months, I make masks from cottage cheese and cocoa! I just mix them by eye, add water, apply to my hair, wrap my head in a towel and go about my business for half an hour. If my hair could talk, it would thank me. Although, I can already see its gratitude!”
Of course, the choice is yours. I can only add that when preparing the material, I tried the simplest of the described products, focusing on the contents of my refrigerator. I had both cottage cheese and milk. Olive oil, which I usually use only as a dressing for spring vitamin salads, and honey were also on hand. The "witchcraft" began. Mixing, rubbing, and then applying familiar products for not quite familiar purposes. It's not that I've never used folk beauty recipes before, but, to tell the truth, I've done this no more than five times in my life. I was pleased with the result. "A mask of cottage cheese and honey" - I answered with a smile today to a colleague's question: "You look great, have you been to a beautician?"
