20% of women who have undergone a facelift require a second surgery after 5 years

Any plastic surgery has a certain shelf life. And if you want to keep what you already have, you will have to return to the surgeon again and again.
The effect of Botox injections lasts, on average, six months. After six months, it ends, and if you still want to paralyze some facial muscles again, you will need to visit a beauty clinic again. The effect of abdominal surgeries is longer lasting, but it is foolish to think that after a facelift, wrinkles will no longer form on the face. Alas, plastic surgery does not stop time, it only gives us a break.
"I'm 50 today, and I had a mid-face lift when I was 44," a native of Birmingham, England, wrote on one of the forums. "Since the doctor moved my cheeks into an unnatural position, I am now aging very unattractively. I have deep wrinkles where they most likely would not have been without plastic surgery."
"I got these wonderful breast implants four years ago," writes another woman. "They were great for a while. But then Mother Nature got her way and my bust started to sag. Last year I had to have double surgery - a breast reduction and a mastopexy (breast lift)."
Experienced doctors often tell patients who "want a lot": "Look, here is a breast implant of your size. Hold it in your hands. Is it heavy? And you will have to carry it around for a very long time. Imagine how it will pull the skin on your chest during this time. Maybe we should choose something more modest?" According to experts, approximately 30% of women who have undergone breast augmentation require a repeat operation within 10 years.
As for facelifts, the laws of gravity come into play. They will continue to pull the skin on the face downwards, and the soft tissues will begin to yield to the pressure. About 20% of patients seek repeated facelifts after 5-7 years. The effect of fat return after liposuction is also well studied and known.
