Treatment of bronchitis at home in adults
Treatment of bronchitis in adults at home is carried out in the following way.
If you have a high temperature, you should stay in bed. But when it goes down, you should start walking in the fresh air (but, of course, not in severe frost).
The room in which the patient is located must be ventilated and the required level of humidity must be constantly maintained - you can use a humidifier, or simply leave a wet cloth on the radiator (when it dries, it must be moistened again).
Any irritants (such as strong odors, dust, or cigarette smoke) should be eliminated. Wet cleaning should also be done daily.
To reduce the level of intoxication, as well as to reduce the viscosity of sputum (and thus make the process of its discharge easier), you need to drink a lot and abundantly. A variety of drinks will do - herbal teas (mint, linden, thyme), juices, fruit drinks, and mineral water (alkaline warm).
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as Ibuprofen and Paracetamol) effectively reduce temperature and intoxication, and in addition reduce bronchospasms and bronchial edema, and also promote better expectoration. The safest drug of this group, which is suitable for the treatment of bronchitis, is currently fenspiride (Erespal).
Treatment of bronchitis with herbs at home
Bronchitis can be treated at home using herbs.
If the disease is in an acute form, you can drink a decoction of coltsfoot. This plant is a very effective expectorant and also has an antipyretic effect. You need to brew 1 tbsp. of the herb in 1 glass of boiling water, then keep it on the fire for 15 minutes. Then cover with a lid, leave for about 45 minutes, and then strain. Add water so that the amount of tincture is for 1 glass. It is not recommended to store the medicine for more than 2 days, after this period it should be made fresh. Drink the tincture warm, 30 minutes to 1 hour before meals, 2-3 times a day, 1/3 glass.
Elecampane root also has expectorant properties. Take 1 teaspoon of dry chopped root, pour 1 cup of boiling water over it and keep it on the fire for 10 minutes. Then let the decoction brew, then strain it. Drink the tincture 3-4 times a day, ¼ cup 1 hour before meals.
Knotweed herb has a good anti-inflammatory effect. For the tincture, take 1 tablespoon of dry chopped herb, keep it in a water bath for 5-10 minutes, then leave it for about 1-2 hours and strain. The medicine should be taken 3-4 times a day, 1 tablespoon at a time.
Effective treatment of bronchitis at home
Treating bronchitis at home can have a positive effect. Among the most effective treatment methods are inhalations, because their use allows you to act directly on the bronchi - the medicine goes straight to the inflamed areas.
If you are going to use folk remedies, inhalations should be done leaning over the pot and covering yourself with a towel. The steam is inhaled through the mouth and nose, alternately. A teapot can also be used - for this, a simple plastic funnel is put on its spout.
There is only one limitation for steam inhalations: they cannot be performed if the patient has a high temperature.
Bronchitis can be effectively and quickly cured at home, but to do this, it is imperative to start treatment on time.
