Hawthorn during pregnancy in the early stages: tincture, broth, fruits

Hawthorn is a plant that is often used for therapeutic purposes. It is a shrub and belongs to the family of Rosaceae. Hawthorn grows in height from 3 to 5 meters on average. To use it in medical practice it began in the 17th century. Nowadays, the plant is widely used for therapeutic treatment of patients. At the same time, hawthorn is prescribed with caution in pregnancy. Indications Hawthorn

In some cases, the use of hawthorn in pregnancy is undeniable. There are a number of indications for using this medication during the gestation period. They include:

• improvement of the general condition and functioning of the immune system;
• treatment and prevention of puffiness;
• problems with the cardiovascular system, blood circulation, hypertension;
• stress, worsening of the nervous system, irritability;
• insomnia.

The sedative effect of the plant is based on the fact that this drug leads the heart muscle to a relaxed state and reduces the level of pressure. Thus, hawthorn in pregnancy can be used as a sedative. It is also prescribed for swelling to remove excess fluid.

Useful properties of hawthorn

The plant as a whole is composed of such substances as:

• iron;
• zinc;
• copper;
• phosphorus;
• calcium;
• potassium;
• cobalt;
• magnesium;
• and others.

Previously, the plant was used for liquid stool, dysentery, cardiac pathologies, for purifying blood and for other purposes.

For medical treatment, leaves, flowers and hawthorn fruits are used.

3. Fruits ripen in the early autumn. They are used in a dried form and only after full maturation, namely when they have a red color. They contain various acids, such as citric, tartaric and ascorbic acids.

Dosing and administration

There is a limited number of ways to consume hawthorn during pregnancy. They include:

• broths (decoction of hawthorn in pregnancy are prepared in this way: 5 dried fruits are boiled for 15 minutes in 400 ml of boiling water, taken for the prevention of puffiness and for reducing the heart rate after the first meal and an hour before going to bed);
• compotes (to influence the general condition, appoint compotes of dried fruits with the addition of hawthorn);
• infusions of inflorescences on boiled water (for various purposes);
• smoothies (for therapy for insomnia use an hour before going to bed a cocktail of banana, ch.l. Honey, tsp tincture of hawthorn, 2 tsp kefir);
• tea (dogrose and hawthorn during pregnancy in equal proportions brewed in the form of tea and used to strengthen the immune system).

It is also allowed to use confectionery products with hawthorn during pregnancy.

Contraindications

Contraindications include:

• hypersensitivity to plant components;
• toxicosis;
• VSD;
• extrasystole;
• atrial tachyarrhythmia;
• tachycardia;
• atherosclerosis.

Before taking hawthorn in any form should consult with a specialist. It is definitely forbidden to use tinctures on alcohol. Uncontrolled use of the drug may become a threat of interruption of gestation.

Special instructions

Some precautions should be followed. With excessive use, there may be a number of symptoms, such as:

• lethargy and slow reaction;
• general weakening;
• interruptions in the work of the cardiovascular system;
• gypsy.

The main precautions are as follows:

• You can not use the drug before meals and on an empty stomach;
• should make sure of the absence of allergic reactions;
• apply inflorescences, leaves and fruits of hawthorn during pregnancy is possible only if the rules of collection are observed;
• it is forbidden to exceed the recommended dosage;
• it is not advisable to use raw fruits and jam;
• tincture of hawthorn during pregnancy on alcohol is prohibited to use.
